It seems like I have a dead team in my Goon non-keeper league. Hasn't checked his team since the league was created on Feb 17th. Anyone want it?

14-team h2h with the 5x5 categories plus OBP, SLG, K/BB, and OBP against.

Also, fair warning, this team is losing 13-0 week 1 to me.

No wonder I was able to draft Voit :v:

I have also learned that next year I will make it a points league instead of roto so we can watch our numbers go up easier

Try to weight the points a little in the direction of hitters and cap the innings. Marginal SP sometimes end up more valuable than first round hitters

Hey regarding using K/9 in weekly-scoring leagues, do you find it tilts the scales towards high end RPs? Our commish wanted to do it because people complained that aces weren't being valued enough but I feel like K/9 in such a small sample size would just devalue them more.

Going back a bit, but K/9, ERA, and WHIP are offset in my league by W/QS/K enough that you kind of have to go for both. I have five relievers right now and about seven starters on my roster. If you do go with K/9 and don't also put in a category or two that only starters can get it'll definitely tilt toward relievers.

Joined another pro league because why not. 12 teams, standard 5x5, snake draft.

C: Realmuto
1B: Goldy
2B: Ryan McMahon
SS: Kiké Hernandez
3B: Astudillo
OF: Yelich
OF: Robles
OF: Mallex Smith
UT: Voit
UT: Piscotty
BE: Pete Alonso

SP: Thor, Buehler, Clevinger, Ryu, Urias, Peacock, Corbin Burnes, Brandon Woodruff
RP: Hader, Yates, Swarzak, Ottavino

Pretty happy with this. Drafted Realmuto over Sanchez, since I already own Gary in 2 leagues, and immediately regretted it. There were a few autodrafters so Trea, Lindor, etc went for full price. I know I'm thin at 2B/SS/3B, especially since La Tortuga doesn't play everyday - yet. I had to grab him though, I kind of love Astudillo and its nice to have a viable backup C. Swarzak may be a flash in the pan but he was my 2nd to last pick so w/e. Got some players that I don't own anywhere else (Goldy, Yelich, Realmuto, Clevinger) which is cool. Mondesi went at pick 52 :eyepop: - this is the 1st league where I didn't get him.

Jay Bruce could be a good cheap pickup. He hit 33 HR in 2016, 36 in 2017, then he played hurt for the first half of last year so he was lovely. But he went on the DL for 2 months and when he came back he hit 6 home runs in the last 5 weeks. He's also a lefty so he's a good platoon guy. And he has a 1.252 OPS in spring.

I will toot my own horn. 5 homers in his first 10 games.

Yeah but the problem is setup men will also disappoint you when some random bullpen guy somehow gets all the save opportunities and runs away with the job, only to disappoint the next person who foolishly drafts him the year after, thus beginning the cycle anew.

Apparently Scherzer going 6.1 IP and 4ER is good enough for a quality start for my opponent. I should still win the week anyway unless he somehow gets like 4 saves, but I'd like to know how that was a QS. I'm sure it'll get fixed but in the unlikelihood that I lose and that QS is the difference I'll be pissed.

ESPN is giving me three different scores for my matchup? I'm very confused. This is on Chrome, but it tells me initially I'm tied, then I wait and it tells me I'm losing, I click on the matchup and it tells me I'm winning? What the gently caress.

Yea it took it away. Which sucks since it lessened my dominant win a bit :smug:

I’d love to pick up Yandy but is he getting eligibility anywhere else? I already have KD parked in my DH spot and would hate for a useless bench spot occupant

It's a piece of poo poo. Click on the Fantasy cast link on a PC and it will show the real score. (I think) I was going nuts earlier when I was trying to decide whether to bench my Sunday night player to ensure I would win AVG, but I couldn't figure out what the score was.

Any chance Clint Frazier hits well enough to stick with the Yankees when Stanton comes back? Maybe he takes some of Gardner's playing time, or Bird gets sent down and Stanton DHs more?

Before all the injuries Boone said he didn’t want to roster two 1B so if Frazier hits I think the most likely outcome is Bird gets sent down. Of course I also saw the annual “Bird takes grounders at 3B” tweet so who knows.

I would take him over Ketel Marte. Upside is still there and all the Rockies are injured so he should get PAs.

I'd hang onto Marte. Very underrated player last year, the kind of guy whose numbers may not impress right away but whose counting stats just keep adding up. And he's young and probably still improving.

But I mean I'd want Hampson too, he's getting his chance with the injuries going on in Colorado and I still believe in him. I'd drop Semien because you can probably pick him back up later if Hampson never gets going and even if you can't who cares that much about losing Semien
