So i want to get something straight once and for all and i would like it answered on this post and not in a private message because my issue is becoming a problem. Whataburger claims that there are 36,864 ways to make a whataburger. Why is it that my way seems to be an issue in only a couple of your local establishments. Your companys issue is my request for toasted buns on the grill and not thru the machine. Your machine squashes the buns so instead of a burger, customers are given a flat bread sandwich. I want near picture perfect burger. I have worked in burger establishments in my lifetime and i know squashing the burger is a lack of care from either the equipment or mishandling from the employee. Time and time again i am told that whatabuger cannot toast buns on the grill due to health code. That the grill doesnt get hot enough to kill possible bacteria. I find that completely laughable since your grill obviously is hot enough to at least cook ground beef to a minimal internal temp but your staff is claiming it cant kill any bacteria during toasting buns. I have also contacted our local health department numerous times and they insist that it is not an issue. In fact, im a chef who is servsafe certified and teaches culinary and i know that its not an issue via servsafe which is the nations standard. Furthermore, there are countless burger joints across this country that grill toast, buns, etc on the same grill and there isnt an issue with people becoming ill due to toasted buns. I want an answer as to whether toasted buns is part of the 36,864 ways to make a whataburger and if it isnt, why not since obviously it should be. Toasted buns on the grill is as old as the creation of the burger itself. If there are really 36,864 ways to make a whataburger, then toasting the buns on the grill and not thru the machine is mine!
