Weapon durability is a dumb argument mainly because the combat in the game is ultimately dull and repetitive especially with armor. Unless forced into a fight, I'd just run away or avoid enemies while doing the exploring which was perfect.

Combat was only ever good with constraints like when you start or in the Master sword challenge. Or ones you give yourself.

I think a run without any using seed/shrine/fairy upgrades would probably be really fun. My recent replay I got preoccupied with never using a couple of weapons and also being able to hoard equipment made it get kind of boring. Maybe master mode should've locked you into that instead of being a 1-hit-kill thing.

The only shrine I had to look up the location for was the hidden one underneath the castle and in hindsight yeah I probably should have found it but 119/120 isn't bad

Someone above called the game forgettable. If only. I'd love to play this game fresh.

I was very excited to restart recently. And things are recognizable. It's still great but I'll never get that back. I'm going no towers (I'll climb for vision but I'm not activating them), no teleporting, and no HUD. I didn't start in master mode cause I do feel combat is a bit of a drag but hopefully this way I'll get a bit lost and it'll be hard enough to find fairies that I won't be using them so often.

Not sure if I want to try real hours mode (eating sleeping regularly). Also don't know if ancient horse armor is cheating or not. It might be.

You can. Whether it charges faster than it drains I don't know but I did a 9 hour flight with no battery concerns. If you have a Pro controller you can even use the cable that charges that to charge the Switch

Considering you can kill blue hinox's right off the plateau, I'm pretty sure there's not a *high*level fight that really requires many weapons. Unless you wanna fight a lynel. By the time you get to Karikaro, you're already mid tier.

I first left the Plateau by jumping off the waterfall into that lake in the Gerudo region, eventually stumbling onto that Hinox on that one high island.

I hooe another game eventually comes out that captures that thrill of exploring the unknown that BotW did. More games should steal BotW’s climbing mechanics, if nothing else.

How does the Switch work when travelling? I have a long rear end plane flight that is multiple times longer than the battery length. Can i charge it on the plane by plugging it in and keep playing it? Just wondering because I see so many power batteries on the switch deals reddit.

I travel a ton and I found that getting a portable battery really helps to smooth things out and for peace of mind. I can squeeze out about six hours of a relatively system intense game like diablo 3 with airplane mode on and low brightness and no sound.

Depending on which airline you're flying, I've found that the usb charger on most airlines won't charge the switch very well. I've found it's a lot easier to just bring a back up battery. I've got one that hangs off the back of the switch that gives me four full charges, and then I've got my other battery for my phone and laptop that's another four. Both cost me around 50 bucks total

you get a higher frame rate when you run the game docked. Like it would require patching if Nintendo came out with a Switch Plus probably but scalability is literally a core feature of the switch.

Also people can already run the game at 4K 60fps on dolphin.

it's capped at 30.
On emulators it's been hacked to reach 60fps and from what I see I've seen it works pretty well with some animation bugs here and there.
but, I mean, they can patch the game.

It's Nintendo. They are not going to patch botw for 60fps (and any Switch model will not be strong enough to do that in the first place).

That's exactly the hinox I'm talking about. I like to do 3 heart no stamina runs wearing only the gerudo veil, so the first thing I do is run straight from the plateau to the dragqueen. That blue hinox is always my first stop. One time, it started raining though, and i was almost hosed, until I used one of his swords to strike him with lightning.

it's actually the opposite for botw, the game has a more stable framerate when undocked because of the way undocked mode handles scaling back the graphics.

dark souls 1 and 2 both eventually got stable 60fps modes when they were ported to stronger consoles and the framerate-related bugs were patched out
