The correct way to dry a field is to put the fuel into a leaf blower and use it as a 2-strike powered blow drier.

Because helicopters only fly through the focused rage of the ground repelling their unholy vibrations.

Every other operator I found video of slows the helicopter down a tad more before the drop, at least when they know they’re being filmed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIl6TCSpl0Q

I've been wanting to make a game that has helicopter controls like from bf2, but has you do jobs like a farm simulator. This vid was the inspiration, but the field drying ones illuminated what the first 3 missions can be

Also all these field drying vids look like a great way to accidentally decapitate or maim a couple dozen people. Wtf

Gunshow Poophole posted:Lmao thank you like can you imagine the... I don't even know the word for it, the dynamic range of the strain on that helicopters engines Is it really all that much? One thing about aircraft is that, unlike a car where the engine rpm has a fixed correspondence to the speed you're moving across the ground, the engine speed and your airspeed don't necessarily have much to do with each other. So when the payload is released, the engine load doesn't really change.

A helicopter can be used to push down a warmer layer of air to prevent frost damage, usually for grapes. Pretty basic compared to these videos.

Gunshow Poophole posted:This is understand at least which is cool and crazy skillful but uh, those bundles of trees aren't like... light? And acceleration is my curiosity not speed NOT A HELICOPTER PILOT DISCLAIMER. The way it *looks* to me is the flat out acceleration is on a straight line. For a helicopter designed to lift loads measured in tons, that's probably not a big impact. It's when the load is no longer moving under the same velocity/acceleration as the helo that I imagine the larger stresses get applied to the control surfaces/gearbox. When he starts to turn around, the tree is still moving forward with the line taut. Right when the tree almost sheds its forward momentum, he unclips. If he were to try to hover the tree into the truck, I think it would be more difficult (and dangerous) since the tree would be working like a pendulum at that point, not to mention being buffeted by the downwash.

Hmm fair nuff, I guess I don't have a perspective on how those masses are proportional to the power of the engine either
