Vraska is a better thing to do in BG at 6 right now, but this will be a two-or-three-for-one often enough I can see it as a sideboard option for grindier matchups. Blowing up a board state and setting someone behind in lands rules.

This rules even if it's mediocre at best for Constructed play.

I don't understand how a story can be this bland and this confusing at the same time. I guess partially because a lot of it hinges around an event (Niv's death) that isn't shown on the cards? If he'd died in the last set that might have set things up better; perhaps Domri could have killed him somehow? The Gruul killing the smartest being on Ravnica feels like a good way to set up that the city is falling, and also sets up Domri's death and Niv's rebirth here while establishing Niv's death as a really pivotal moment in the story. I don't know why I'm suggesting changes to the plot of some trading cards on a dead video games forum; I'm very tired today

The 7 mana dino wrath saw play. There’s definitely a metagame where this is a sideboard card, I just don’t know that we ever get there.

Reviews going to be especially weird in limited though. I expect an above average variance in prerelease predictions to post release actuality.

CapnAndy posted:Is it just me or are those cards actually good and worth playing? The Jace is pretty lame, since the one - is a lot of loyalty for a small payoff for a 6-drop, and the ruse kinda drops with it. Informant is a bad Thrummingbird but you might want any Thrummingbird and this one is a faerie rogue for UB Fairy-related dreams. The Projection is like Chasm Skulker with higher p/t base for a higher cost and less relevant other ability, but Wizard Illusion is a lot more relevant than Squid Horror.

It seems like there's some legitimately strong stuff and then there's a lot of stuff that is confusing or hard to parse out in a vacuum that people are calling strong because it sounds smart. The overall power level seems higher than your average set, but I'm realllllll dubious about how well Amass works out in any format, and some of the PW effects seem designed to pump fake people into building around them and then getting smashed in the face. In Limited at lease, for Constructed who knows.
