I'm not claiming this is absolutely the case for Hennessey, but it's not that out there for footballers to have knowledge gaps across entire subjects once they've signed to an academy.

Reminder we've had footballers in the press that literally didn't know how to shop for groceries or boil an egg. I'm 7 years older than Hennessey but in our school at least, when we learned about WW2 there was practically no Nazi imagery or rally footage in the source material and very heavy on dates and numbers. I'm dropping the devil's advocacy now, it's not a hill I care to die on I just don't think a professional footballer being ignorant of historical events as so far out there to be impossible or absurd. I do agree that the picture combined with the explanation sounds utterly laughable, barely knowing anything of world events 70+ years ago not so much.
