I didnt even hate Sansa and Dany. It was lovely until Sansa turned up her "Yeah but also gently caress you" meter and then I was on board

So Dany never tells anyone that Jon is really a Targ. Tyrion fucks up at some point and gets executed and Dany passes his position as hand to Sansa to placate concerns about the North. poo poo gets real in the South, Dany goes a bit too far and is captured/killed in battle. Jon carries on the fight because Cersi is evil and Euron is no peach. Jon dies along with Cersi and Euron. Because no one knows Jon was a Targ and Sansa is Dany's hand they decide the line of succession for the North goes through Sansa and since they hold the south Sansa should sit on the throne.

There's no time left. You either get that or you get Grum's version that will never happen. I mean yeah the teleporting is bs. But D&D have an outline without the details for the last parts and have a deadline. The show is good OP.

I assume Dany and Jon are gonna make it out at a minimum, also probably Sansa. You guys are forgetting a lot of narrative beats in your death predictions, and the showrunners are predictable with those. Bronn was sent to kill Jaime and Tyrion, there has to be drama there, so one or both have to live, for instance. Cersei has to meet one of her brothers again too. Etc.

Oh, I forgot Cersei. Yeah, I foresee a Mad King-esque death for her, complete with one of her own Queensguard running her through. It would be oddly full-circle.

In fairness, what is left to tie up? You got two to three solid long episodes to wage this battle. Then it's an episode or two of the aftermath and who will take the throne. Don't think it'll be that rushed seeing that the last three episodes are nearly 4-5 hours combined.

Anyway, celebrating this new episode by watching the Battle of the Bastards again. That entire sequence is a work of art. What are y'all's favorite moments on the show? I'm thinking about the Arya/Hound tavern scene, Hardhome, Tyrion in last ep of season 4, the Varys/Littlefinger original scene in S1, the wedding in S4, and I'm sure there's some I'm missing but I'll think of them later.

Ginette Reno posted:the Jaime moment was good I guess. The rest of the episode was hamfisted poo poo tier dialogue that belonged in a Marvel movie. C'mon, there is no more reference material and we're on the last leg of a series that started in 2011. You can cry about it being hamfisted, but most people want to see these character interactions happens. Yes it's exposition, but we're at the end. If it didn't happen, then there'd be no character driven sequences. You're looking at the wide plot. Look at the individuals they brought together. So many of them were crucial to the plot and development of the show. If we don't have a few minutes of exposition, then we as the audience will never get a satisfactory resolution.
