Essentially everyone I've seen wash their hands next to me or heard while in a stall, I guess it sounds weird to pay attention to how people wash their hands but you don't even have to look at them to hear the soap dispenser go before they dunk their hands under the tap and splash around a bit

Maybe it's a woman thing though

looool, you got a 50/50 shot of a dude even pretending to wash his hands. The amount of dudes that just walk out without going near a tap is staggering.

You get the soap, then get a bit of water then lather up/scrub and rinse off. It's not hard.

Right but when you do what I described the lathering part is rubbing plain water for a second or two because the soap is long gone

Recommended way is actually wet, soap, lather, rinse and if you swap wet and soap there is no soap when you lather

I just did this with liquid soap to see if you're trying to gently caress with me and I can confirm there is lather. How bad are you at washing your hands? Do you think people just listlessly stare at the stream of water until it's washed the soap off their hands before rubbing them together?

What kind of soap? Because the foam soap the dispensers here put out washes off instantly as soon as the water hits it

Also the soap dispensers and taps are the automatic type that you don't have to touch

edit: liquid soap okay, but you're still washing wrong

do american cities not have, like, public health departments telling people how to do stuff like this and to sneeze into your sleeve and cover your mouth with your sleeve when you cough?

(people ignore them anyway I guess but at least an effort is put in)

I was amazed when I visited Victoria and saw posters in the pub bathrooms advising you to carry Narcan.

So no, we don't.

paper towels my dudes

edit: everywhere I've washed my hands except really dingy places (like my house :xd:) have automatic flushes, automatic soap dispensers, automatic taps, paper towels, and no doors or push doors though; the latches on the stall doors are nasty to touch but if you wash your hands properly I guess it doesn't matter

the guardian article yesterday on paper towels versus air dryers was talking about the mythical no-touch toilet experience and i was like "hmm yes that is something that a man can get when he uses a urinal, but i feel like someone is being left out here"

I'm exceedingly germophobic and a woman so I have to sit to use the toilet but oddly enough sitting on a toilet seat doesn't bother me as long as it's dry and visibly clean, I guess because I don't touch my rear end and thighs before touching my face or food

I guess it's gross when you stop and really think about it but at least I haven't gotten a butt illness in my over 30 years of life

There's probably an element of fatalism, like "welp I guess there's no avoiding it :geno:" but I'm not really sure how it could be solved, but at least it can be made a better experience by people being courteous and not pissing on seats and strict housekeeping schedules wiping the seats down

I'd expect women's bathrooms to have cleaner toilet seats for obvious reasons but if my public toilet experience has taught me anything I'm sure I'd be surprised.

I don't see really bad toilet seats in the womens' bathroom often but when they're bad, they're bad. There's an element of irony in that when people squat or hover to avoid touching a nasty seat, they just piss all over it and make it worse, especially when there are multiple layers of toilet paper laid overtop by previous users. I don't do any of that poo poo and just go find another toilet seat and luckily I haven't had to try solid snaking into the mens' bathroom to find one yet

Also bad behaviour with feminine hygiene item disposal

Not sure about the average bathroom, but womens prisons are reportedly infinitely fouler, cleanliness-wise, compared to mens prisons.

Just dunk your hands directly into the toilet, the waters right there!

It's very likely cleaner than most other surfaces your encounter in your day to day life.

The whole world around us is covered in piss, poo poo and jizz, and the organisms that eat it and then poo poo it out again. A public toilet that gets cleaned regularly is probably cleaner than your couch, fridge or kitchen tap.

the clue is in the other videos, it's a propaganda channel.

quote:

Yesterday it posted, one after another, “Saudi Arabia Beheads 37 for Terrorism Crimes; Most Shiites” (5 minutes, 1 second); “Saudi Arabia beheads 37 for terrorism crimes” (7:21), and “Saudi Arabia executes 37 people for terror-related crimes” (3:21). Before that it posted “NASA just detected the first ‘marsquake’ on the red planet” (2:31) and “NASA probe detects likely ‘marsquake’: an interplanetary first” (3:11), and before that three straight videos about the former Brazilian president Lula’s reduced prison sentence. None of them had any views.

they're trying to add lots of noise so people don't notice the signal - that way when someone clicks their videos shared on facebook or whatever they'll see some nice leftist union stuff and some pop culture NASA crap in their other videos, grants legitimacy. if they were smart they'd also have a wrapper page somewhere that makes the viewcount less obvious. point a script at google news, have a set of eyes make sure you're not promoting something off brand and bob's your uncle.
