Also I'm feeling mildly bad for the Subverse people when I mock them, they are trying to make a game without Crunch and actually distribute the game's profit more equitably according to interviews. That really is a noble goal and especially since this game looks like it's going to be a legitimate hit. Exploitation and crunch also heavily effect a lot of this self funded indie games. On the other hand, I've found out that despite a weird lack of English press that this is happening or at least the milestone this represents; Japanese and European press and fans are actually big for this. At least America doesn't have defend this too.

The biggest problem I have with Subverse is that there is no prototypes or past games made by this team, just mockups, 3d models and animations. I've seen projects with more pedegree than this fail before, plenty of times.

Might be something significant given how a lot of porn games either tend to get stuck in development hell because the devs are all amateurs doing it in their spare time, or fall apart because one of them runs off with all the assets or something, that it takes a healthy and equitable dev environment for anything remotely major to get a hope of actually being released.

You just put the porn in its own special room so if people want it they know exactly where to find it, but they won't find it just mixed in among the staff picks or whatever. Using tags and trusting in the algorithm is not going to work - because hell even if people do actually legitimately want to buy porn sometimes, they probably don't want it recommended to them when they're just browsing the store normally.

They do have 2 seperate tags for sexual content in the preferences. One just for nudity, where it's not the focus of the game, and one for "adults only" (tiddy games). I haven't seen a lot of either so I don't know how reliable it is at preventing porno games from getting in the queue, but I'm assuming not great.

I mean Valve claims they're "just a storefront" but what they are, and what they're comfortable being, is an OS for games. They even have a loving "big picture mode" so you don't even have to pretend your PC is for anything but accessing Steam. If they're an OS they can just act like "well, whatever people do is their own business" while taking in every nickel from every game sale because every single game is on Steam. Nothing can be done short of changing the law or the entire system to not allow anything like Steam (or Amazon or any of these other total monopolies masquerading as free and open markets) to happen again.
