What makes you think he's wearing any pants at all?

Doc Ock: Right, time to prep out a ridiculously complicated plan to steal an idol by wooing an octogenarian and pinning the blame on Spider-Man. Now, should I also put the same effort into figuring out my escape route? Nah, it'll be fine!

We didn't realize it was a callback to earlier stories.

All of these weird events we saw were just references to old comics.

Wonder if that means more shroombots.

Well, it's not like the woman she's fighting is angry with her and would be trying to kill or harm her.

Though it did make me remember that in the Ultimate Universe, it's canon that the Rami Spiderman movies happened, Peter didn't get a cent because he was hiding his identity, and they used real clips of Doc Ock fighting Spidey in SM2 after one of their brawls went through a shooting location.

Yes, Mysterio's talents include secretive contracting work on skyscrapers in the dead of night because he removed the barriers and then replaced them with illusions.

I know we were making fun of Spider-Man for this earlier, but it seems like in this universe the default response to anyone running more than a few feet is to just shrug you shoulders and leave.

It's basically an entire universe of video game guards.

That was a Stan Lee hallmark. The 60s Fantastic Four refer to Sue Storm as a female in disparaging tones a shocking amount of times. It seems like maybe he was still writing the strip at this point, the dialogue does seem Lee-esque.
