Managed to get SA this time. First time I rigged the explosive. Turns out using explosives in a room filled highly volatile fuel additive tends to cause collateral damage. If I were any closer I probably would have offed myself instead.

The Sheriff groggily is shaken awake by a terrified partygoer. All he remembers is turning in time to see a suitcase flying towards his face, now he's at a party? Around him multiple unconscious bodies lay on the ground, the party host rushing around frantically trying to wake them all. "Try this," says a flat voice, and he turns to see a bald man in an apron standing expressionlessly behind the food table,"They're to die for. "

Nakar posted:By the way, I need your help to construct my most elaborate puzzle yet. I want to know all the ways you can think of to require a player to violate Silent Assassin, and ways that you could potentially get around that. For example: Require a disguise that can only be acquired from a non-target with No Pacifications. There are two ways to do this, either killing the NPC and stealing the disguise, or simply giving up on the objective requirement and killing the target in a different disguise. In this example, the latter is plainly better, since failing a complication prevents Objectives Complete anyway, and also adds a Non-Target kill. this was the solution to a couple of puzzle contracts i had in mind before the sedative changes, e.g. kill the paris sheikh, as the sheikh, with the fiber wire. or kill a bunch of unique targets around whittleton creek, in their own disguises, with fiber wire. getting bodies found and having them be woken up costs the same amount of score as just sniping them all in the head and leaving, but you'll lose a lot of time waiting for targets to wake up. at the same time, shoot + run will require you to get the bodies out of sight, otherwise you lose two objectives (objectives + bodies found) as opposed to wake up (which is only bodies found) theoretically you could do a "knockout + disguise steal + kill 5 targets in their own disguise" mission on hokkaido, because you only get 2 tranq needles and i think there's only one fire extinguisher on the level to knock out the rest. e.g. kill any combination of nails the pilot, head surgeon, director, yoga instructor, jason portman, or amos dexter (6 potential targets). since you wanted workarounds for violations, i'm pretty sure you could still use sedative pills to get a couple more, though i'm not sure who eats/drinks (amos probably drinks booze). even if you managed to sedate him, you'd still have to get his disguise in the middle of a busy restaurant. miami - does the stig exit require targets killed as pale rider, or specifically sierra + robert knox killed as pale rider? e: requires sierra + robert. where the red fern gropes fucked around with this message at 05:47 on May 5, 2019 |

idle thought: the helicopter exit on hokkaido appears to be two different exits - one on each door of the helicopter - which are functionally identical other than which side you interact with. a required exit on the hospital-side door might cause a bit of trouble depending on the availability of distractions and whether nails turns around. probably not since you can exit pretty fast

I used the bomb this time. I took out his bodyguards and all the scientists, including the head scientist and hid all of their bodies. Then i used the key to get the detonator for the new bomb they were working on. The explosion was beautiful to watch up close. I was disguised as the head scientist too, though I had a bodyguard disguise most of the time. I even took the time to erase the camera footage. This game can be a little bit too easy once you know what you are doing.

Nakar posted:In Broad Daylight (PC: World of Tomorrow): 1-03-2879464-02 ok i had several goes at this, the best place to shoot my tranq gun from the starting location on the harbor was slightly below the air conditioning unit that's behind and above the target. i got it down to 10 seconds, it was very fun this gives me vague ideas for a contract based around using the long-distance parabola of the tranq gun to hit a target in a location that you can't see (causing some manner of distraction, allowing shenanigans). ideally there would also be some sort of indicator for the player on exactly where to stand and where to shoot so that it's not completely frustrating to reset it, but that's only really necessary if it's a puzzle contract with an enforced time limit that requires using that exact strategy finding the correct location for this will be difficult. maybe... ninja start in hokkaido, shooting the gardeners? i'd like to avoid using the tranq+kill exploit but then i have no idea how i'd make the rest interesting. e: writing down idea so i can be reminded of it later: on the bangkok Source mission, there's a katana in dexy's room, since they didn't really tidy up that part of the map when patient zero came out (you can steal the gun through the safe door because it's buggy too). thinking of some BS contract requiring getting the katana, being spotted by a guard, and then being escorted out while you find a good place to stab them through the head without being seen. can a katana fit in a briefcase? i know a broadsword can where the red fern gropes fucked around with this message at 10:34 on May 8, 2019 |

Not sure if this occurs if you just constructively render the exit unusable, e.g. the dolphins in Miami if you throw all the fish on the map into the water.
