Went to Brandi's last night, the pizzeria where the Margherita was invented in 1889. Surprisingly the margherita we ordered wasn't as good as the one the night before, though still excellent. My GF's pizza with cream base, ham, mushrooms and mozzarella was incredible though, holy poo poo. What people were saying about simplicity and quality of ingredients is spot on. I used to scoff at margherita and order fancy pizzas with lots of ingredients but realise now that that is just compensation for bland ingredients. The tomato base in some of these places is so loving good and has such depth of flavour that I totally understand people ordering pizzas with just that on it. And don't get me started on the dough, holy crap

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHA quote:Penac was purchased in the UK in 2004.[2] as a used vessel. Originally named Liv Viking, it was a passenger hovercraft ordered by Hovertravel of Copenhagen and carried the livery for SAS. Liv Viking never entered service as her route was replaced with bridge.[3] eat poo poo you stupid boat, bridges are better e: some napkin math here AT max load, it's engines combined consumed 768 liters/hour of fuel, and it can do 50 knots fully loaded at 69 tons with 22.6 tons of payload. That means you could haul a nice travel trailer, and around 25,000 liters of fuel, which would give you 32.5 hours, or 1625 knots of range before you had to raid another settlement or flotilla for fuel. Obviously not as efficient as a sailboat, but it shows you mean business, which is important in waterworld. Powershift fucked around with this message at 10:20 on May 18, 2019 |

So, due to a set of lovely circumstances (deadbeat rear end landlord not paying the mortgage on my house) I am house hunting. I looked at a place today that had these guys sitting in the woods behind it. I'm pretty sure they will come with the house if I buy it. Free projects are So, without further ado, anyone know what these are? Sorry for lovely pics, they were behind a fence / gate that we didn't have a key to and I wasn't about to climb over it. This one has obviously had some kind of customization done to it (probably in the '80s, I'm guessing?) or maybe is just an unfinished project. My first thought was that it was on fire at one point, but on closer inspection the front seats are intact so I don't think that's the case. It does seem to be sitting high in the front, so whatever engine it had in it is probably gone I bet it had chronic overheating problems . No clue on the rest of the drivetrain. This one looks like someone's old work truck that just got old / miled out and was put out to pasture back here. It didn't look like it was in terrible shape - I would almost bet this one could be running with minimal work. My guess - International something or other from the '70s? This guess came straight from my rear end, because I don't know a whole lot about old pickups.

That one definitely looked like the more salvageable of the two, although I know nothing about the condition beyond what's in the pic. Got my first pay this week from my new job after almost 18 months unemployment. Only a telco customer support call centre job, but for a decent company with good culture, friendly people and plenty of chance for advancement and decent perks. Current shift while training means a commute in rush hour traffic though, and I’m barely managing 12 US MPG with our fuel costing US$5.43/gallon.

Welp, interview next week for a retail job that... actually pays pretty decent. It's a bit of a cut from my 1099 gigs, but it's 3 days a week, the hours will let me do my 1099 stuff for several hours before I go to work, it's less driving (so really, it evens out with a decent night on my 1099 gigs), plus it's a W2 job... so I'll be able to have a lot of taxes withheld from my paycheck to help with the quarterly payments I'm dealing with now. Some benefits as part time; no medical insurance as a part timer, but TBH my ACA insurance is cheaper (and aside from being an HMO, better). I'm in there often enough that I'm on a first name basis with a few people, so I've been able to pick some brains about the hiring process. It sounds like if they've invited me for a face to face after the online interview process, they're pretty interested. NitroSpazzz posted:Yup red truck is a courier, great little work trucks. When I worked at Papa John's, they had an alfredo pizza briefly, but turned it into spinach alfredo (tiny pieces of chopped up spinach already in the sauce) pretty quickly, and still sell that garbage.
