Interesting fact is the composer for this game did literally nothing before or after this game also terranigma is pretty good https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnFQU29LHeM and feels like its in the same vein

elf help book posted:persona 5 is an instant all time classic, nier automata was that year too It's so good. I bounced off P3 a few years ago but this instantly hooked me and every track is a bop. I planned to play P4 Golden after because the pal who recommended 5 to me said it's her favourite. But it's only on vita or something? The songs I like/recognise when they play most atm are the confession ones and when someone gets their persona https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itTXN0Wrcio https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwfpVPLyrSM

American McGay posted:I'm going to marathon them some Sunday this summer. Soul Blazer is one of my favorite games of all time but I've only played the others sparingly. Soul Blazer is weirdly comfortable compared to the other two because it's actually kind of repetitive, but somehow not in an annoying way. there's also pretty much nothing you can miss, whereas half the time i play Illusion of Gaia, I end up missing a red gem or one half a health point unless i'm following a guide. the health point thing (it's always Mu) is a minor annoyance, but you miss the whole bonus dungeon if you don't get all the gems. i'm worried terranigma will go further down that road, kind of, but i guess i'll find out.

like, there's one red gem you have to get by going in and out of a cave until a fisherman appears in one of three spots, in a place you can't return to. i'm not sure how you're supposed to know about that without a guide. the game still owns, but it sucks how easy it is to miss the dungeon that literally has a Soul Blazer boss to tie things together.

Illusion of gaia is in my top five games of all time. my brother's friend loves telling the story of the time we all went on vacation to some rural cabin and I of course brought my Super Nintendo because I'm a huge dork and we had a HUGE infestation of hornets in the living room like two days in so everyone just stayed in their rooms with the doors closed and I wanted to keep playing it so bad that I just said gently caress it and played it while huge swarms of hornets were buzzing around my head the entire time. I still remember what part I was up to, it was Mu. it had to be like 40 hornets, at least. Yeah that one was bullshit but to be fair the game came with a manual that told you that. it gave you the location of all 50 gems
