I like to think Xandarian Snail is just a bullshit pest export that the Nova Corps sell as high quality caviar to get money from other planets.

I think having Galactus as being an actual large guy and just playing it straight would be the best tbh. That’s actually one of the things I like most about Agents of SHIELD (and to a lesser extent, the MCU - they’re not as good about it as AoS), is the willingness to play Comic Book Stuff straight and trust the audience to come along with you on it. Only thing is I wish they would roll a little harder into Norse stuff with Thor. Ragnarok was super cool and fun and a great movie in general, but my favorite shot is just Surtr driving a giant flaming sword into the ground and burning the whole kingdom. It is just a cool look. (Probably what I really want is a fantasy movie on budget with a Marvel movie, and art direction/cinematography more ambitious than Game of Thrones)

So they're just ignoring the MCU now, right? I mean, a part of me is glad that they're free to do their own stuff. The other part is kinda angry they had to stay one step behind the MCU for five seasons.

And since they’re bringing in the multiverse they can simply say it’s a universe remarkably similar, but distinct, from the MCU. Vvvv They mentioned Cull Obsidian and Ebony Maw tearing up NY a couple times and then Casius tells Graviton specifically that Thanos has already landed. I am guessing that all this takes place before the snap. Yes, Thanos was referenced in season 5, but it didn't say Thanos was there, just that he was coming for Earth, which was basically the behind the scenes story of the first Avengers movie.

Let’s just assume Tony’s aim with the snap was way loving off and a human using the gauntlet just royally screwed all of time and space. Do we even need spoilers for endgame anymore? I have no idea.

I haven't gone back and double checked, but I think they only say something like "Even now Thanos has his eyes set on Earth". I will go and check later today, but I thought the wording was enough to acknowledge Infinity War without committing to any development. You would think at least the studios would tell the TV to change the language to a certain way, without telling them the plot points.

Yeah, the final episodes seemed to be acknowledging the beginning of IW. And also the ABC shows have a famously strained relationship with the movie side of Marvel.

The references in season 5 were still vague enough that the show can reasonably claim to have actually taken place more than a year prior to infinity war at that point. In the end, all they do is state that "something weird is going on in New York" (when isn't it?) and "Thanos is coming to Earth soon" (soon relative to what?)

It wasn't a recognizable Thanos ship, and Talbot wanted to fight off all aliens, bot just Thanos. Also, the IW scene in New York takes place over the course of minutes, so it doesn't make sense for him to "gear up" for it.

In Infinity War, Stan Lee casually asks Peter's class if they've never seen a spaceship before. This is because this line is actually acknowledging the events of AoS season 5 (which takes place before IW), where a random unrelated spaceship showed up in New York (as seen on the news broadcasts in the last ep) and was subsequently brought down or driven away by unidentified heroes. It's all connected!

Apparently the main reason they’re not addressing it is that, despite the show being originally targeted for the summer, they didn’t know if ABC was going to call them up and push it forward to mid-season. Vvvv Here’s the quote from Whedon; Co-showrunner Jed Whedon echoed the sentiment, saying it was the safest way to keep the show on track. "For the multiple reasons, we had to do that," Whedon admits. "One of the main ones being that we were not positive when season 6 would air. We were pretty sure it was going to be in the summer, but if they moved us up to January and we had tied into in any way, it would’ve destroyed everything. So the safest course of action for all parties involved was for us to stay pre-Snap." The article also mentions that they’ve been filming season 7 since February so they might not be dealing with anything to do with Endgame next season either. I thought I heard somewhere that everything so far has been pre-snap. I don't know that I'm optimistic but they did call for two seasons at once, so they very well could finish this season with the snap and address it next season.
