Just finished Messiah, good read, now onto Children. I like how near the end, Stilgar so casually tells Duncan of who he just killed alongside the traitor Fremen: RM Mohiam and Edric the Guild Navigator. I figured such big adversaries would have appropriately dramatic deaths but Stil is just like "yeah I put that fishdude and the witch on ice, no big deal."

We got a copy of Dune:Spice Opera with the original game. Might even still have it in my bookshelf. Either that or my brother might have it, in which case it is lost forever.

We were missing God Emperor until I checked it out of the library at like 15. I think it made it better, maybe just cause I was older.

I really like that bit in Dune where Paul is confronting the Emperor, and Jessica restrains the Atreides followers by saying "stay out of his way, he's like his grandfather in this mood." Is it a reference to the Harkonnen thing? is it another strand to the theme of heredity? Is it a grounding element for the kwisatz haderach? Is it Jessica putting the profoundly weird situation in words her friends can maybe understand? A combination of all of them? Such a great line, with so much meaning jammed into it. And then @duneauthor goes and makes the old duke get killed by an alien mecha-robo-bull.
