Hmm, when that crazy amount of rain fell in north carolina last year it took a couple of days for all the water to accumulate and cause the real serious flooding, and the Mississippi is enormous, so I guess this will be continuing for a while then

Minnesota has even been getting heavy rain and thats all flowing downstream to make things worse. The Mississippi has been above flood stage in the twin cities since snow started melting.

And these storms are currently forecasted to last through memorial day, at least. That's a ridiculous amount of water all going to 1 place, and a lot of those upper river systems are already flooding in nebraska and oklahoma

i like that this is the specific climate doom thread companion to the general climate doom thread because hoo boy it looks like parts of america are going to have to be condemned way sooner than we thought or maybe we will adapt and every structure on the great planes will need to be built out of reinforced concrete with a concrete roof and no facade on 20 foot stilts going forward
