HD changed their policy a couple of years ago to make it year-round, but some stores still haven't gotten the memo. They also like to pull that "it doesn't stack on major sales" crap, which I've never run into at Lowes.

A reminder that John Ratcliffe is a coward. His Memorial Day post is pushing his Gold Star memorial bill, so I made sure his constituency knows he has no balls and literally ran away from some Gold Star wives last week.

Jesus, it's like there's a competition to come up with the worst possible opinion regarding military survivor benefits.quote:easy fix for this, completely do away with the VA compensation fund. There's no need for it. Obviously, the government was not at fault for your loved one's death. They volunteered to join the military knowing the risks involved. So, having to pay a monthly amount for agreeing not to hold the government responsible is ridiculous and unnecessary. So, not only can the government save money by simply doing away with that fund completely, but, then these widows would have nothing to complain about because there would only be one check going to them. THEY KNEW WHAT THEY SIGNED UP FOR quote:I’m so tired of everyone BELIEVING THAT EVERYONE IS DESERVING A FREE HAND OUT. BENEFITS FOR WAR WIDOWS IS SOCIALISM quote:So, it's another "entitlement" fund that this country cannot afford. Before anyone gets high and mighty about their spouses serving the country, this program is unsustainable. If you think Medicare and Social Security is a problem, it's compounded by this as well. And people bitch about taxes to fix roads... ROBBLE ROBBLE ENTITLEMENTS

The instant I hear the phrase 'All taxation is theft' I give up all hope of the conversation having any sort of useful outcome and I just poke at them to get a glimpse of the crazy and see how many looney tunes phrases I can get out of them. 'Audit the fed' is usually not hard to get as they almost universally have heard the phrase but ask them to explain what the Federal Reserve actually does and you'll pop the lid on their crazy.

I'll give the guy credit, he has worked for every penny. It was my exwifes uncle in FL, so I spent many an afternoon drinking and smoking with him. He lived in a run down shack in the bad part of town, ran his own company(which he ran honestly, aside from being a little shady on taxes), and rode his harley around the rest of the time. Fun guy as long as we stayed away from politics.

Loden Taylor posted:The parking lines are white, symbolizing the purity of their motives when answering the call to serve. https://www.wkrg.com/news/mobile-co...ce=twitter_WKRG The table is round – to show our everlasting concern. The cloth is white – symbolizing the purity of their motives when answering the call to serve. The single red rose reminds us of the lives of these Americans….and their loved ones and friends who keep the faith, while seeking answers. The yellow ribbon symbolizes our continued uncertainty, hope for their return and determination to account for them. A slice of lemon reminds us of their bitter fate, captured or missing in a foreign land. A pinch of salt symbolizes the tears of our missing and their families. The lighted candle reflects our hope for their return. The Bible represents the strength gained through faith to sustain us and those lost from our country, founded as one nation under God. The glass is inverted – to symbolize their inability to share a toast. The chairs are/chair is empty – they are missing.

Notable patriot and known haver of Good Judgement Representative Duncan Hunter defends Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher by admitting that that he committed one of the same war crimes that Gallagher did. This case keeps getting creepier by the day, with a whole bunch of armchair patriots and retired SOF guys jumping on the JUSTICE FOR EDDIE bandwagon. Trump is also apparently considering pardoning him before his trial even wraps.
