as a heads up for part 3, if it feels a bit stretched out in spots it's cuz it is. for some reason it's two full seasons despite being technically shorter than the next part of the series which only has 39 episodes. also a lot of the super dope stuff is backloaded in the second half, so look forward to that.

You know, there's something about the conflict of this part that really bothers me. I can't really put my finger on it, but I guess the lack of specific information is one of the bigger problems. The Eye Disease, just Drugs, antagonist being hidden. We just don't see a lot. The whole "drugs. just hate em" just doesn't seem like enough motivation to go out there and most likely die. Maybe if they've shown more of the chaos that the Drugs caused? Boss is a piece of poo poo, but there are more people like him in the world, and not like he used his stand for much. Mostly just hiding. Maybe he has more plans, not like we know. I sure hope he has, because apparently he's important enough for Polnareff to take note of him. Kira did much less, but he was a far more effective villain because we saw him and he was a charismatic rear end in a top hat. I don't want to rag on this too much, I still enjoy the show a lot, and I love this part as much as I enjoyed Part 3, it's just every time I remember that it all started with "drugs bad", it just all seems a bit weird. When Bruno started melting, it seemed like he was going to die for real, so it scared me a lot. One of the things that Araki got way better at over the years is writing characters. Didn't really care about any deaths in Part 3, but all the boys in Part 5 are lovable morons, so it hits harder. Even just Fugo leaving. Like, who's gonna teach Narancia math before trying to violently kill him?

Part 5's plot goes by too fast for its own good. You probably could've cut out a few fights to give the story time to breathe and also maybe show Giorno changing over the course of his journey.RaspberryCommie posted:Droogs Also this. I feel compelled to correct that Giorno only really goes Droogs when Boss lets them be dealt to children, he's fine with adults who know what they're getting into. Could use more of that to remind us just why Giorno is after him in the first place.
