Skimmed the Judah fight on Daily Motion. It was someone way past his prime getting ground down by a journeyman. The ref stopped the fight and hopefully reduced the damage to Judah as much as possible.

Judah’s 41, originally retired over 5 years ago, and hasn’t fought in a year and a half. He shouldn’t be fighting at all, let alone against a real contender. It’s unfortunate guys keep fighting past their 40th birthday, it’s very dangerous and rarely worth it.

My main exposure to Seldin was seeing him receive a boxing lesson in Laval, where he looked very basic. Agreed about the overall point though and I hope Judah is ok.

MMM Whatchya Say posted:I just meant in terms of their subscription model and snapping up of all the talent they can find In both cases I feel like there's a lot of value for the hardcore fan. The most appealing thing is that writers get to stick to one sport and just cover it full time. All 3 of the boxing writers for the site were doing something else (Rafe Bartholemew wrote a couple books and edited for Grantland and Eater, Mike Coppinger was also covering the Anaheim Ducks and Lance Pugmire also covering mma for the LA Times) in addition to boxing before going to The Athletic. Tyson Fury back in action this weekend. Naturally ESPN will be promoting the upset angle, I don't know enough about Schwarz to comment really. I hadn't heard this before but according to Arum, the plan is for Fury to fight again in the fall after this fight before Wilder-Fury 2 next year. Wilder already has a fight scheduled for the fall and I was wondering if Fury would just wait for him or what, but I think it's smart (if somewhat risky) to keep Fury busy through the end of the year, which should also help promote the rematch for the public. Arum expects 2 million buys and says the network divide can be bridged with a joint ESPN/FOX event. Arum also says Crawford will return in the fall and claims he is trying to make Crawford-Spence happen. Last I heard Spence was negotiating with Shawn Porter, Arum says that fight hasn't been signed because there may not be enough money in a Spence-Porter PPV to see Spence get paid. He makes the point that once a guy goes to PPV it's hard to dial them back to network TV money. Incidentally what news I can find about Spence-Porter suggests that terms are mostly figured out and what remains to be seen is the date, but it's also unclear if the fight is being targeted for PPV or not. Finally it sounds like Al Haymon is looking to sell the PBC brand to UFC's parent company Endeavor, presumably staying involved going forward like Dana White has for the UFC. I don't know what to make of this news, a lot of people have said for years they want to see the UFC model applied to boxing but I personally think the sport is too spread out for any attempt like that to work. The UFC developed MMA into a lucrative sport in tandem with their own brand; boxing is already a developed sport. I think it would be bad for boxing to have a fifth world title organization, which ironically is what people were speculating the PBC would be when it was first announced.

The "boxing esquire" Kurt Emhoff did a podcast on Endeavor possibly purchasing the PBC with mma writer John Nash that's the best take in the situation for now until more information comes out. https://m.soundcloud.com/emhoffk/boxing-esq-podcast-25-john-nash The SituAsian fucked around with this message at 23:49 on Jun 14, 2019 |

https://twitter.com/DAZN_USA/status/1140009934945431562 It's bizarre as hell. The WBC withdrew their sanctioning of the bout because of a dispute with the WBO about the officials and Adalaide Byrd was judging a fight which her husband Robert was reffing.
