Paying $10 to advocate communism on an internet comedy forum is a level of insanity I'm thankful I will never fall into. E: the banner ad I saw when I posted this, for "Big Dick Daddy Dongarium," whatever the hell that is, really seals that sentiment for me.

Current Event: F-35 basically confirmed to be dogshit by GAO (modedit: This previously linked to goatse) quote:DOD's F-35 fighter jet provides key aviation capabilities to support the U.S. National Defense Strategy. The F-35 is also DOD's most costly weapon system, with sustainment costs estimated at more than $1 trillion over a 60-year life cycle. The F-35's supply chain has a unique design. Rather than owning the spare parts for their aircraft, the Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps—along with eight international partners and other foreign military sales customers—share a common, global pool of F-35 parts that are managed by the prime contractor. Sure, it doesn’t seem to make sense on the surface level, but Soleimani loves agitating and ramping up pressure (within limits) to achieve national goals. These attacks are also remarkably similar to the attacks against the ships moored just off of the Fujairah port in UAE, which also involved limpet mines emplaced by divers. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/jun/07/uae-tanker-attacks-un-iran-norway-saudi-arabia And yeah, Iran likely did that one as well.

Nobody worth their salt believes Iran itself did this. At most a third party group funded by Iran, at least likely a UAE frame job.

what national goals? isolate themselves further and get invaded so the country can be devastated? nothing about the attack makes any sense and to assign blame to anyone yet is a mistake

Yeah, I should’ve specified that I didn’t mean that these were emplaced by divers. They were probably emplaced by a boat following alongside. It looks laughably poor because it was probably done pretty hastily (as was the removal job) and the IRGCN doesn’t have the most experienced frogmen. Again, it would be real stupid to go to war over this, but it definitely was Iran that did it.
