What's the problem with David Suzuki? I know I read a while back that he was against immigration but I don't know much else.

More just that he was widely reported to be a creepo to the young ladies who latched onto his boat in the early days when he seemed like a big subversive hero type. Also just generally a dick towards non young ladies.

Could just be slander, could be real, who knows. Before my time for the most part.

He def did good work for climate activism stuff and will probably be dead within 5 years by his own admission so... *shrug*

Guy has a huge carbon footprint to be lecturing us about it. There's something about millionaires lecturing proles about reducing consumption that seems to make them prefer burning it all down. David Suzuki, Cobie Smulders, William Shatner and Pamela Anderson aren't wrong to be behind a canadian green new deal, it just seems like a lead by example kind of thing. Maybe they could each just own and share one island or something.

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised. If Mulcair ran on this I think he might’ve even held his seat count or gotten a minority influence in 2015.

I’d like the NDP to win on a platform like this but the electorate hates “tax and spend socialism” and I don’t think the country is woke enough to elect a Sikh to its highest office. So frustrating that racism is powerful enough to keep you from getting good policies passed.

I honestly don't think that a significant amount of would be NDP voters would not vote for him because he's a Sikh. Most of that thought train is well over to the right. However, him being a big lump of potatoes that is boring as gently caress does him no favours.

Something about his delivery and aura is immensely boring and either insecure or dumb.

Yeah he gave a talk at my high school years ago and while it was a good talk, everyone who interacted with him agreed he was kind of a primadonna with a list of douchebag demands.

poo poo like he must be provided with a room to meditate before the talk. That room must have two burnt almond chocolate bars in it. After the talk Dr.Suzuki will return to his bus. He will not take any questions or interact with any students before or after the presentation.

Like jesus dude you're coming to talk to a bunch of hopeful high schoolers who look up to you. Don't do it if you're going to be a dick. It's not like it's people coming up to you at lunch, it's an engagement you agreed to.

I volunteered a bit for the NDP last time, so Mulcairs seeing to the right was a personally affront (though I still voted for him).

I joined the party to vote against Singh, who I think is all style and no substance, just not to the degree Trudeau is.

Pretty sure I'll vote green this time. The polls are encouraging, though as we all know fptp will render these improvements useless.

I dunno to me he seems like a personality champ compared to a literal robot vampire like Scheer and a "drinks one pale ale a month and instagrams it during the raptors game" wet sock like Trudeau.

There is in fact a healthy middle ground between that poo poo and stealing names of bills from a foreign country with Donald loving Trump in charge.

I dunno, with five ministers there it has to be some sort of decision they really want to own whole-heartedly

Maybe, in light of recent popular opinion polls, they're calling off the election and simply not going to have one ever again. Soldiers behind the ministers, etc.

It *was* an election promise!

It’s all so stupid. How do you even deal with these edgelords? Ignore it? Play it as a joke? Should Trudeau just run over and ask them if they want a selfie?

People who are concerned about the environment tend to default to supporting the Greens, but the NDP policies seem way better to me overall. Am I off on that? Are the NDP realizing that people want Left/Progressive policies (as opposed to more centrism)?
