I’m thinking some of the marketing money got shifted around. I quite like the random SC mentions on the various Red Bull regionals. Bahrain and Kuwait, for example, tend to bear down heavily on the rich person sports like formula one, then in the middle of a stream of posts, you’ll get one about Star Citizen.

It's still a janky snooze fest of shooting a laser at rocks to get resources so you can refill a dozen meters that are constantly ticking down. It is what it is, a small (in terms of actual gameplay) indie game made by a dozen people on a tiny budget. If it wasn't for the ridiculous hype train supported by Sony, it probably would have sold a few hundred thousand copies and been forgotten in a year or two.

You have environment protection which counts down, then it hits health. If you're inside (which is a very loose concept) or in a hole, it doesn't count down. There's like two meters you have to worry about, and a bigger loving problem is the inventory management because of the sheer number of extant materials, let alone the transmutes. Your 'tool' takes power, which counts down. You're not wrong on the gameplay loop being collection of materials, though, and they've kinda subverted the original broad scope into a doll house sim. My overall problem is that I wasn't after a base-building simulation, but that's what it ended up as after NEXT; like there are two distinct 'campaign' lines in terms of ATLAS and building a base, and neither are entirely compelling. I actually used to kind of enjoy just zapping around planets looking at the procedural modelling. As it is, I think I got my money's worth out of it fairly early, and have moved onto other things (Mafia III is surprisingly not poo poo, although formulaic, and Path of Exile on Ps4 is way deep mechanically. I'm doing a 'no automation' run through of Distant Worlds which is not going well, and Space Engine is eating up the rest of the time).

Read up on the Wiki about the topic and it's pretty... fascinating, though seemingly the controversy is very limited to German sphere? As I am not German and can't speak it, I doubt I could learn about it from that way (and I haven't been to Buchenwald, only Terezin and even that briefly). I don't think most of the world cares about the phrase in this regard, though, and instead takes it as "Whatever you do, props to you, whatever I do, props to me, we can disagree on stuff"
