I liked the recent Citations Needed about vegans and animal rights, but when the second guest started talking about animality and white supremacy being zooilogical I was lost. That interview went from introductory to jargon heavy really quick. Is this what I sound like to people when I talk about Marxism and class conflict without defining my terms first every time?

I actually think I just misspelled "zoological," which I assume means tracing white supremacy to enlightenment ideas of categorizing the world scientifically. This can then be used to justify exploitation of other "races" on the basis of "scientifically" determined inferiority, Like, I agree with that, but the slave trade and exploitation came before that conception was firmly established, and required the justification as it developed and grew. But my misspelling may actually be the way the author used it. I don't know. I might actually buy their book now though to find out honestly.

Is this what I sound like to people when I talk about Marxism and class conflict without defining my terms first every time? the second interview was a mess, maybe it was an off day for the guest. i really wanted to hear about her work and theories, but instead she just kept talking about talking about her work, her organizing, how people react to it, etc. it was just dropping terms instead of using or explicating them. still really curious, but not encouraging to have to go through a whole book to get even a summary sense of her thesis the first interview was much better about getting across an introductory summary of their work so you have sense of its structure and scope and where to look further
