Marchisio had his contract terminated with Zenit. He's been living back in Turin and doing his latest knee rehab at Juve's medical facilities for a while anyways.

He was poo poo at United, but everyone except van Persie was poo poo at United at the time. I get the feeling about Zaha that he does alright at a club like Palace but would disappear at a "bigger" club. I think he's more Everton/Wolves level. So it makes sense Arsenal are in for him :v:

Sounds like he should go back to United then, he’d fit right in now

TBH I am a bit surprised he hasn't been linked with United, given Ole is all about wanting pace.

I'm surprised there hasn't been any mention of Memphis going back either. He's pretty clearly a much more mature player than he was in his season and a half at United and United have a buy back clause they could exercise if they wanted to.

Rabiot to Juventus and Kovacic to Chelsea appear to be done deals.

Chelsea were able to sign Kovacic because of a loophole in their transfer ban in that Kovacic was technically registered as a Chelsea player until June 30th so they did the deal before their ban went into effect on July 1.

"Wilfried will always hold Crystal Palace and their fans in the highest regard and all the support they've given means the world to him," he said. "It’s my brother’s dream though, to play for Arsenal.

"Given all Wilfried has given to Palace to help them remain a Premier League club," he added. "I hope Palace will be able to see their way to agreeing a deal with Arsenal that allows Wilfried to realise his dream of playing European Football for the club he’s supported since childhood"

Zaha seems like he is in a pretty weird position. 26, making 130k a week (apparently), and no one who seems to want to pay Palace's fee. 40M won't get it done.

It's great money and all, but if he ends up stuck at Palace until closer to 2022-23, that will suck if he cares about ever playing in a good side

His agent did really badly, it was like he saw the fee per week but didn't read the bit that there was still the sell on clause.

Sounds like they're doing a good job to me. Rile up a team, unsettle their best player, and keep the fans and journos entertained over the summer with a transfer saga.

I'm sure they're quietly getting their defensive business done, and I can't wait to see who they bring in.

I thought he was English and counts as homegrown and thus costs way more than he should.

The urgent positions are central defense and midfield.
