Fellis posted:The game developer was Ukrainian, seems like a decent reason to base the game in the Ukraine Pretty much every game made in the former Soviet Union (and most other media in general) is about how much life sucks in the former Soviet Union. If it's a fantasy or sci-fi setting in another world, it'll look a lot like the former Soviet Union and be about how much life sucks there.

Careful now, these sort of loose lips brings in the Tankies declaring that the Soviets never did anything wrong. And that the concept of complete occupation, forcefully dismantling the national identities and sending every dissident to Siberia besides those who weren't disappeared immediately, is not actually an attempt of genocide but just socialism in action with some minor problem solving involved.

In fairness, Chernobyl is like the perfect real world model for a game based on Roadside Picnic. It's got an exclusion zone and radiation and everything.

Collapsing Farts posted:Are... are unions considered communist in america? My dude the supreme court last year created a free rider situation where you could opt out of the union, benefit from their collective bargaining agreements, but also choose not to give them a pithy fee for the benefit of said bargaining. It's total bullshit and 9/10 workers are all "Why should I give SOME UNION $50 of my hard earned paycheck to pay for some FAT CAT that does nothing for me!" (Opts out of union, gets fired for bullshit reason and has no recourse). "SEE the Useless Union didnt help me!!!"

Capitalism is considered communist in America. Some might even say the center went too far to the right as the baby boomers slipped in to FYGM/ladder pulling. But it's clear we've not gone too far enough. Slightly related: https://i.imgur.com/jiJeDze.mp4 Space commies are acceptable because obviously they can't even afford pockets and teach a valuable cautionary tale.
