Sooo, can Grey actually send supplies and reinforcements to his army in India?

And can the US actually deploy the Midway class carriers here? They came online in early September..

Heck if we know, they seem to not be deploying anything anywhere.

Going by the Lucky Ship database (I have no idea how that thing has been so consistently updated for so long) the last sighting of a US fleet carrier was in November of '44. By my count the US should have at least 7-9 operational fleet carriers, but isn't doing anything with them because this game is fundamentally broken.

Don't forget at least 20-30 CVE's and probably at least a dozen CVL's.

Clearly.

'43 showed us all just how carriers fair against a modern battleship.

A single zero goes off on a suicide mission.

Curse youuuuu!

Just go away will you, we all know how this ends.

We all know how this ends!

Imphal falls! The invasion of India has had a successful, if bloody start!

Well, that swung the points 500 in my direction – and the base has yet to take effect, that's all from enemy casualties!

I send men after them and others to Silchar to the north, but it looks like the Allies burned any supplies they had. Which is a shame!

So I've finally met the AI's score, their rate of growth exceeding my own. This is more because the Allies are not losing troops on their own.

Today's results come to late to be included in this graph, but they are the first movement in months.

The gap here has been closed to 583 points from last months 777. We are definitely killing more than we lose.

Most army losses come from random daily bombing raids that are not worth showing.

It's even been a quiet month on the old sinking front.

It looks like they are mostly throwing supplies ashore now.

Who keeps sending out lone Zeros?

They come out on top for once.

Erm, where did my CAP go?

This is a months losses in a day!

There were a lot of ships at Guam....

Well today was an absolute disaster. It seems Guam has run low on supplies, so that is most likley the cause of the lack of planes – I have dispatched more to them, but it could be a rough few days.

I've also evaced the remaining shipping bar one. Thankfully, these were mostly light ships.

On their way to Port Moresby, my surface ships have revenge.

Shame these are boats and not ships.

Evens it is.

At Ndeni, our guns get the range of a freighter.

That's a lot of operational losses for the Allies this turn.

Yesterday was an anomaly, today is normality.

A boat is worth a minimum of 1 point, then its something based off of its size and what it can carry/shoot, iirc.

Its not an exact science, last I checked, as certain ships are overvalued and others not so much.

That Zero that suicided on the 7th was particularly odd:

wikipedia posted:

A6M5-S (A6M5 Yakan Sentōki) – Armament change: To intercept B-29s and other night-flying aircraft, an air arsenal converted some Model 52s to night fighters.[71] They were armed with one 20 mm Type 99 cannon behind the pilot, aimed upward, similar in intent to the Luftwaffe's Schräge Musik installation.[72] However, lack of radar prevented them from being very effective.

Would an upwards pointing gun actually be any use? That sounds like a nightmare to aim rather than just pointing your nose at something.
