That opening to Daphne Does Dinner is perfect and it's a really good example of a long-running show understanding what it is and having a little fun at its own expense without going into the extremes of lampshading or fourth wall breaking or being self deprecating.

There was a point where Frasier questioned his sexuality with the Freud dream episode and seemed open to the idea but ultimately figured he's open-minded and honest with himself enough to have already accepted if if he was gay.

There's a later episode that's without Fras and they do the "Oh! Frasier sent a letter from his extended Psych conference! He is doing well and will be back soon! Now on with the show" Was he filming a movie or in rehab??? Also was anyone else sad that Kelsey Grammar didnt GET BEEFY when he was Beast in X-Men???
