Thank the gods he is not in EX raids. I really wish they'd do away with that system. Armored Mewtwo is Cosplay Mewtwo. Hopefully he is in dinner raids this next Wednesday. I already have a hopeful raid train set up for my area...and some schmuck on Discord wanted to know why I only did that area for dinner raids, and not his city. I told him the gyms are closer, so there is less walking, AND I DON'T LIVE IN THAT CITY. poo poo dude, we have a super active Discord, make your own!

Perhaps it's a Sword and Shield tie-in? There were rumours that armored Pokemon were going to appear in that (though they seem to have instead opted for a raid-like gimmick). And of course armored Mewtwo also appeared in movies.

The only compelling rumors now are the Gigantamax, Team Yell, and Camping ones since a bunch of other stuff there ended up true. This is definitely just to tie-in for the movie, like how last year we got Lugias. It's just that only Japan gets the message about it being a movie tie-in, while the rest of the world gets to pretend it's just a random event.

The SwSh guesses were a combination of fake 4chan leaks about "armored pokemon" and people datamining "armored mewtwo" strings out of the PoGo client.

Just gonna come out and say Gengar is flawed too much because of horrid typing. Ghost is only effective against ghost and psychic, and weak against psychic because it's also poison typing. It's really one of the stupidest typings in the game. Unless armored mewtwo has non psychic fast moves, its gonna be a glass cannon of any sort, so you're better off using giratina or tyranitar.

I have an O giratina but he's up to the point where it's 10 candies to power up and the returns are so marginal. Already have a bunch of tyranitar, a maxes out scizor, and maxed out bite crunch gyrados. I live in NYC so it's probably irrelevant what I do because I don't I ever had a mewtwo raid with fewer than 15 people the last time he was around anyway

If you’re doing a team, as a rule of thumb prioritize getting multiples to 31 (where it jumps from 4 candy/powerup to 6) — actual level cap is nearly always worthless because of how much the game revolves around breakpoints, but having 6 Level 30 hard counters is basically always more worthwhile than having 1 40 and a handful of 20-25s. (Breakpoints are also why the difference between a 100% and a 0% are frequently not really worth paying a ton of attention to— if a 15/15/15 L35 and a 15/15/15 L40 survive the same number of charged attacks in a raid, then you can have a L37 or so 0/0/0 survive the exact same length of time and do effectively the same amount of damage)

Generally speaking, yeah. If you've got regular big groups then 25/weather boosted fresh catches are fine, but teams of L30s is where you can really start getting into the Quad/Trio range for most 5-star raids.

Everybody talks about what level dudes are in this game but nobody ever bothers to mention how you tell what level your dude is and I refuse to install some third-party app to tell me information that the game should freaking tell me. I just had a look through my 'mons and I see I have some work to do to get my best ones to the 6-candy for upgrade range. At least now I have a goal!
