The posts about Calcy IV earlier today convinced me to install it. It informed me that I should be able to reliably solo Machamps so I went and found one. It turned out to be 100% with Counter/Close Combat (not Dynamic Punch but I'll take it.) So I guess I owe this thread a thank you for the Machamp.

The podunk town I used to live in had a very strong, sometimes kinda too much raid scene, and I had no idea until I randomly walked into them doing a raid. Turns out they had a WhatsApp group, something that doesn't really show up on Google or something. Once I was added I could do raids basically every day because some folks were always up and about. Raids with random passersby were never a thing in this town, but this group made a bunch of good stuff happen. It really depends on what your local players are like and how many of them you got.

They can't nest but there are "places where they show up more frequently" (although that probably correlates to "places where a fuckton of pokemon spawn in general") The Seattle area pogo scene has a map that reports spawns, I snagged a month's worth of gible spawn history out of it a while back and while it's a lot of random, there were definitely a couple "better places to be" for it:

it's a little device that usually battery or USB powered, that you rock your phone in, and combined with an app like Google fit and adventure sync in Pokemon go, you can walk your phone and it counted as steps. Please help me goons, it's been a crazy day on discord. A person introduced themselves as a furry and not one, but all seven channels in our discord, ranging from friends and trading to general chat to individual raid channels: Hi my name is husky wolf, I'm a furry and the furry community around here is totally drama-filled and full of angry people, so I want to avoid that, here's a picture of me and my first suit on the last three or four conventions I've been at, there's also an original creation drawing of me, just wanted to let everyone know, please add me as a friend. it quickly devolved into anyone who criticized this person, keep in mind this was your introduction post which no one ever really does, being close-minded and a bigot, when most people just don't want this guy to show up and a fur suit, which he said he would totally do for any future raid trains. now if he was willing to dress up as Eevee or Pikachu, I would let it slide, but of course not, he's the usual wolf hybrid and bright neon goddamn colors. add to that I have a raid train going on this Saturday, and have been Fielding personal messages from people all week asking where it starts. Keep in mind in the chat I posted several times we don't have a set start location, because it doesn't make sense to start somewhere if there's no raids, so we usually scan the map we have and then we'll post to start location about a half hour before we begin. This has been our strategy ever since we got the maps, but for some reason people are unable to read and instead just message me and then gets snippy and call me rude when I ask them if they read the channel, or tell them point-blank I already answered this question for you a month ago, nothing has changed since then. Another new person to discord made a raid channel for the Entei evening and was confused because no one would tell him where to start the train, and when I told him he had to pick an area because we have a pretty vast city, he called me again irritating and rude and unwilling to help, before finally just snagging somebody else's planned route and said he would do one in the same area. I understand being new, because I'm still kind of new to discord and all the different commands on it, but you seriously can't to do a raid train and just expect people to tell you where to run it!

Hey admins can you make a channel devoted to only the high-level raids in the gyms within walking distance of my house? And could you then ping everyone on the server when a high-level raid pops, and then ping me with how many people have RSVPed? Thank you! I will try to be 15 minutes late to whatever time you set.

It's easy to direct people once they say what they want, because you have to be serious to keep up with the fast groups, otherwise we tell them to ask about the "turtle" groups who will just hit things at an easy pace downtown where lots of gyms are. The iffy part though, is wondering who would accept prospecting fast people when some groups are already close to 20 and the likelihood people might be left out if there's random public people around joining. I technically led my group for Raikou day as well with the route and making private groups in case there were too many around. It's a little tiring because I got out of my car for almost every stop and to check what the group consensus was, but I was also happy to do it to keep the group from being indecisive.

And Roselia are still super common. Oh yeah I forgot to put in Roselia/Roserade. I think in the back of my mind I thought "Sinnoh Stone = not accessible" which is true to some people. Roselia really is a boon right now since it's summer so sunny weather is common and you can find a lot of them in the high 1400cp+ and they'll be ready to be fighting machines if you evolve those high ones.
