When I was a kid sometime in the 90s there was an entire box of them at the local flea market so we had the whole set.

I've never bothered to confirm it but I've always read that Tim Burton was going to make that instead of Mars Attacks but them Jurassic Park came out.

I can't remember the name but I used to get a magazine that would list different web addresses for neat and boring things. Like, it would just be a list of the ip addresses with a brief description. I remember thinking one was cool because it was a counter of how many sodas a vending machine at MIT dispensed that day. The internet sucked back then and I was very bored.

For Christmas once I got a hardcover book with listings of websites. I think it was called "Cool websites for cyber kids' or something like that. Half of the sites would be some random person's personal site, lots of which were dead by the time I got the book. The other half would be major websites that you really didn't need a book to figure out, like https://www.lego.com. Even as a kid I couldn't really believe that something so instantaneously obsolete could be sold, but :capitalism:

I remember seeing pictures of sit-down versions of McD in pictures although we did not get one, they came with table service and normal cutlery, plates and glasses and stuff, I think they also served pizza. I know these existed because one goon mentioned being in one, and the general concept was also mentioned in the book "Fast Food Nation" I read ages ago.

I know that Burger King briefly experimented with table service, and decided that the perfect spokesperson for the push was MTV's Dan Cortese

My mother used to work for a place that did teen makeup products and they used to have MASSIVE magazine subscriptions. So every week she'd come by with a shopping bag full of like Teen Vogue and Seventeen and Maxim, for some reason, was usually in the pile.

I was a voracious reader so I'd toss them in my backpack to read at school between books and class. Three of my classmates, all girls, went through my backpack at some point because 10th grade and they pulled all those mags out while I was busy with some Steven King tome. The teen girl mags were accepted without much comment. They pulled out the Maxim and gave me poo poo for it, but I just said "I read it for the articles" without looking up.

There was some chatter as they leafed through it and the girl I had a crush on said "well yeah, obviously he needs to know about that..."

I realized later my sickcool smartass remark wasn't as witty as I thought since that issue had some poo poo about mastering oral on it

In fact...

Yea, i could spank it to that back then. Like I only ever had one issue and my sister got it for me as a joke, the issue with Christina Agularia in it. I mean it had stuff that dudes would be into, mostly shirts with flames on it and energy drinks.

That kind of poo poo was part of the whole proto bro culture, or the suburban douchebag movement.
