Deified Data posted:Has she described herself that way or are we putting words in her mouth? I can't link a specific episode of Chapo, but I am very certain that she's talked about the subject of Marxist Feminism on it and has identified as an adherent. It would explain why she's as at odds with liberal feminists and their capitalism-centered ideology of token gestures and symbolism over activism.

Are there any well-regarded left podcasts with hosts who are women? My gf has been moving leftward and asked for recommendations, but she's still trying to get past the "socialism as boys' club" meme that got pushed really hard in oh let's say 2016 or so. Red scare sounds like a mess, girls chat is operating about thirty levels of irony beyond what either of us are capable of understanding, and Amber is Amber. So far my best bet to recommend to her is Season of the Bitch, but I haven't listened to it before and people earlier itt didn't seem thrilled with it.

Current Affairs is a good intro pod that puts women up front - it's not all female but they're mostly so on most eps. Brie Grey, Bernie's campaign press sec, came from there.

Jeffrey of YOSPOS posted:This thread has been pretty helpful and I think I'm fully ramped up on how to antagonize folks about podcasts without actually listening to them. For example, Amber is generally right about everything and Current Affairs are a bunch of reactionary libsteins. Pretty good, you can also make up a podcast that no one's ever heard of and say they called a real podcast fascist trash. Amber is fine if a bit abrasive. Anna on the other hand is mostly just acting out to get attention and trying to ascribe some grander political ideology other than "pay attention to me" to her is a waste of time.

I'll probably get around to working through most of it, but what should I be listening to while I wait for the RSS link? Strongly recommend 76, interview with Robert Perry. Informative and infuriating. 85 and 63 are the William Hogueland interviews about early American history and what the "founding fathers" were actually like/motivated by.

It's a good pod if you've either A) built up a lot of resistance to negativity and accept different people have different ways of dealing with post-capitalist stress, or B) are completely blackpilled and hitting the range every weekend waiting for the killing to start. I would not recommend it as an entry point to leftist podcasts. It is good though.

It fills a good niche for people who consider themselves too reasonable to read Jacobin. Basically Elizabeth Warren types who could be moved further left. Nathan is loving brilliant for giving it such a bland, important sounding name, as it perfectly draws in the sort of idiots who order The Economist to "get informed about politics".
