The best thing about this by far is that there's no way Tom Hooper gives a poo poo what fans think and there's no chance of changing any of this.

Here's my Cats story: when I was in high school, I found a collection of TS Eliot's poems and thought they were amazing. I looked into if anyone had done adaptations of his works, because a lot of them were pubic domain. After reading the Wikipedia article about Cats, I decided to make my senior project an album that used excepts from his poems as the lyrics because he deserved better than Cats. My reach far exceeded my grasp, so now there are at least two terrible musical projects based of off TS Eliot's poems.

I've never being interested in CATS at all. At least that very famous song is a thing I know. So I'm all like Not scary, the photos and videos I've seen of the play looked as weird, can't articulate any edgy jokes. gently caress it, I'm probably gonna go and see that.

I'm way late but the thing about Disney exploring wuxia with live action Mulan is that they HAD Stanley Tong years ago and wasted him on Mr. Magoo. Mr. Magoo!!

I think Hopper made good choices, but with Les Mis people just didn't engage with those choices. But Cats sucks. So, I think this is weirdly probably going to be a worse movie than Les Mis but somehow gain Hooper more credit.

„Tom Cruise will fly his own fighter jet stunts in the next Top Gun movie.“ I feel like there was a point not too long ago when that would have been too crazy even for Cruise.

Whatever weird mojo those Scientology cranks brewed up in their lab to make Tom immune to fear and so drat dedicated to living his best life - that's what they need to be selling. Anyway, Tom needs to make a space movie. I wanna see him pilot the drat shuttle

I mean, if you read the Chris McQuarrie interviews for Fallout where he talks about Tom's process, you really understand how he does all these crazy things. Hearing how he got his helicopter pilot's license in half the time as anyone else is nuts—he exhausted two 8-hour shifts of instructors per day like it was nothing. I'd highly recommend the Q&A with Jeff Goldsmith podcast episode on Fallout, where you hear all about the dude's dedication and work ethic. Plus you also get the sense that McQuarrie is a cinematic savant.

Tom Cruise has lived the lives of 1000 people and I envy him for it. It's just a shame that he's attached to a cult.
|
# ? Jul 19, 2019 15:06 |
|
But that cult has convinced him that he has a 3 million year old soul that can never die and endless sessions with enturbulators and auditing has trained his brain to withstand grueling hours of training and probably made him immune to asbestos soooo Also Scientology may be the only conversion therapy that works for him. Man what a messed up mind he must have.
|
# ? Jul 19, 2019 17:46 |
|
Yeah I will never watch a Tom Cruise movie because holy gently caress Scientology is an incredibly abusive and sadistic cult that uses its members as a slave labor force for the enrichment and entertainment of men like Tom. gently caress that and gently caress him.
