Weird how the West keeps agitating about non-existent Uyghur camps even though the ummah tells them that China doesn't have them. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are the bastions of Islam and even they reject this obvious American propaganda. The US will do anything to achieve violent regime change in China.

even if Tencent wasn't financing the new Top Gun, Hollywood would still try and appeal to Chinese audiences anyway, so what's the use in crying about it?

i love how americans like to blame china for stealing all their jobs and technology but here's the thing: the capitalist class SOLD all that stuff to china! if not china then someone else! whoever will do it for the cheapest!

literally a segment on a 60 minutes about how a chinese company bought an american rare earth magnet company in the late 90s or early 2000s and at no point did anybody say "hey maybe we shouldn't have sold that?"

Darkest Auer posted:Why is freedom of information and/or seeing flags of Taiwan dangerous to the Chinese people? separatism is seen as antithetical to the project of building a unified socialist state and a free flow of information is necessarily going to be largely controlled by the rest of the world, which is mostly still hostile to both the chinese state and the idea of socialism as an economic system these aren't completely crazy concerns (see: all historic socialist states, especially the soviet union). you could probably have a reasonable debate as to whether the exact level of control is excessive or not, but trying to fight an ideological war of position with no defensive strategy when you're heavily outnumbered isn't tenable in the long term

As a Taiwanese, I think our flag is cooler and we are best China. But maybe I don't have a leg to stand on because of 224. Trivia: Our deprecated claim on mainland China includes all of Mongolia and we can't revise it because it isn't politically survivable to do so and would call the entirety of the claim into question.

the only good part of Taiwan's boring ugly flag is the part that represents "a Wholly Red Earth" e: I know it was just a slip but it's the 228, 224 is the current page number Autism Sneaks has issued a correction as of 22:20 on Jul 20, 2019 |
