He's making that noise that people in Looney Tunes make when they've taken one too many blows to the head. You know, where you're moving your finger up and down over your lips?

This is nigh-impossible to describe, and I have no idea what search-term I'd use to find a youtube video.

He's flapping his lower lip with his finger to make that blubbering sound of someone talking gibberish because he thinks the guy in the armour is going to be a mess.

The speech bubble itself should be written more like gibberish. "Bdlbdlbdlp" or something. Buh-deep is a bad choice.

Wasn’t there a story where he got possessed by a ghost and it was trying to do the whole “You are a failure and you are better off dead; Let me feed off your misery” shtick to him, only to get psychoanalyzed into submission?

From the badass thread, many moons ago:

Gavok posted:

Ghostbusters #7. The team is facing this powerful entity that possesses people and devours their souls. They're fighting it at a carnival and it possesses Peter. Not only does that mean the team's down by one against a dangerous threat, but they're reluctant to harm Peter. As the battle rages on, this conversation takes place.

He makes a break for it and gets snagged immediately.

Scenes like this are probably my favorite depictions of Spidey. Instead of people reacting "OH MY GOD it's a superhero!!!," the "friendly neighborhood" Spider-Man works so well when instead it's "hey Spider-Man walking down the wall of my building, want some popcorn?" Having random citizens' interactions with Spidey be less alien and more colloquial is really charming.

disclaimer: I didn't read this comic so I don't know if he knows the guy, I hope I'm reading this exchange correctly

He's done more Spiderman than anything else in his career, I'd hope he was good at.

There was a point where JRjr started drawing all fingers in this weird, flattened way but even including that his Spider-Man is one of the GOATs. He's obviously rad at the big blocky stuff but the energy and power he could infuse into his panels was amazing for fight scenes. He's part his dad and part Kirby.

Pretty sure it is the Dodson / Kevin Smith Black Cat mini-series that took eons to finish, if it even ever did because I honestly forget.

IIRC that's from the Kevin Smith Spider-Man/Black Cat series, which other than that exchange and Dodson's cheesecake-y Felicia art (if you're into that kinda thing) was across-the-board awful.

He did a pretty great Sensational Spider-Man Annual (I think it won an Eisner Award). It's actually referenced at the start of Spencer's run with the initial flashback.

Edit: beaten.
