if you're a libertarian it follows that inequality is just, and from there it very naturally follows that human worth is tiered by gender and race. any of them that don't go Nazi just haven't given it much thought.

The way I've always thought about it is that Libertarianism trades hard on something in the vein of "how things should be is how they would be without unjust intervention." There's this real cleaving between the political world and some kind of 'natural' one. This makes libertarianism fit real great with versions of fascism, since you can believe that there is a natural order of race and gender hierarchies, equality is the result of unjust interventions in the natural order, and authoritarian governance isn't government intervention if it is just upholding (or protecting or restoring) the natural order.

yeah when i was libertarianish in my high school/early college days i was too stupid to grasp that we don't start from a level playing field and that racism isn't separate from economics. it's why it pisses me off when people repeat that dumb bullshit the IDW loves - we want equality of opportunity not equality of outcome. we don't have equality of opportunity you dumbasses. you're too old to not grasp that poo poo.

Farmer's market nazi update: threepers and cops now patrolling the booth while half the farm staff are just sitting there the whole time recording anybody who passes by and seems to disapprove. Protester had a sign in front of the booth and was arrested, charges not yet announced but probably bullshit as it's county property and she wasn't disturbing the peace. I feel like the next few weeks are going to be a flash point, they seem to be showing up just to try to incite a brawl or something they can use to sue the city for at this point. Volksmom has been doubling down on the white supremacist stuff, bringing in other fash helpers, and the protests are growing in scope every week. Black bloc showed up last week after a chud promised to kill a protester and eat them. If anybody knows anybody who has ears in the IE/AIM community and you hear rumbling about the Bloomington farmer's market or Schooner's Creek Farm I'd appreciate a PM

I mean he's top 50 conservative intellectuals probably Unfortunately it's harder in the community at large to get that distinction when you show up to a debate with Zizek and lead off with "you've got hundreds of books and I didn't read a single one, instead I'm going to argue against the Communist Manifesto" despite the manifesto not being Marx's academic work, and then totally misunderstanding every argument Marx makes

I can’t believe what a deluded piece of poo poo he was. I can’t imagine thinking that all I would need to do to prepare for a debate with a serious scholar was read an unrelated pamphlet and think it made me an expert.

I told people he started it out with that and they refused to believe me, because they'd never imagine somebody would open up such a high profile debate by immediately admitting defeat like he didn't even "get" the manifesto, he clearly just like skimmed it for quotes the day before. It's probably best he didn't actually read or analyze Capital because it would probably annihilate his mind given what he thinks Marxism actually is

I can fill the gaps on on this guy, as I knew him personally. He was a mathematician that later became specialized in high-load electrical engineering, he was one of the few folks that really understood how intragrid and regional power grids worked and was a huge proponent of thorium power. He also, uh, was raised very strictly as an Evangelical and, well, that never sat well with his homosexuality. He fought with it his entire life and from what I can gather, his spiral into white nationalism was spurred on by a means to reject his homosexuality. Obviously, it didn't really work, since he was soon dead. I can fill in more information if anyone wants to know anything.
