I didn't know who David Simon was, so I looked up what he did

Among other things:
Homicide, the book that inspired the tv series
and,
The Wire (creator, producer, lead writer, showrunner)

When I bought my copy of Homicide from the Amazon Marketplace I was looking at sellers and one of them was Goodwill of Baltimore. Well, obviously I had to order it from them. The book arrives and it was autographed by Simon. I know it's a situation where a local celebrity signs his books all the time and then someone tossed into a donation bin, but I'd like to think David Simon roams thrift stores with a pen looking for copies of his work.

Television is like a cheat code for parents when they want their children to just shut the gently caress up for a half hour.

We're talking about daycare. Parents being present entirely defeats the purpose

Ok, so the people watching the kids want them to shut the gently caress up.

And sorry about your pinecones and herring daycare toys, I'm [corsair] as gently caress and even my daycare (also known as "the nursery" when it was evenings so parents could get a night off) had a TV running.

We just drew and painted and did crafts and played with toys and games and went to the park and sang songs and poo poo. I feel so deprived :(

Right. It's a monitored parking lot for kids so they can't hurt themselves/the house/others while their parents are doing other things. Their job is basically: same number of kids leave intact as entered. Collect fees.

Same, but the TV was there for kids who didn't want to do that.

Yeah, I remember gathering at my neighbour's cause he had a color jester.

This is a b&w/color TV joke and has nothing to do with race, I swear
