I mean you feel like a total badass when you silent assassin a guy and get out with no evidence. However the game really shines when you've just hastily panicked, shot one guy and bricked a civ who saw you, but are hearing the guards yelling, compromised disguise, etc. Game absolutely fucks when it's a madhouse caper of desperation.

To be honest, the reason Hitman exceeds roguelikes for me is the speed with which you can reset the scenario after getting into a botched situation and dying/succeeding.

Hitsmas wouldn't have been nearly as good if Vinny didn't accidentally throw his knife off the roof, have guards yelling about someone trying to seem like Helmut loving Kruger, and Sheikh Zanzibar fire axing someone in front of a crowd because "there's nobody there".

Since if you shoot her with a silenced pistol while wearing gloves, you could (potentially, depending on her behaviour) then put the gun somewhere he'll find - shortly before seeing the body.

There are a lot of cool weapons on the map; some shuriken, a katana, a tranquilizer gun, few other neat bits. With a bit of planning you could come up with some good required loadout ideas.

Unless I'm going for a specific challenge I've been trying to be strict with myself about not loading if something goes wrong. You can salvage some pretty dire situations in this game. I've been playing with mission stories off which is really enjoyable but I wish there was a setting to only see the titles in the menu so I can remember which ones I haven't done. Maybe I should set it to minimal and just not track them.

Square was apparently pretty cool during the sale, IO was part of negotiations and good offers were turned down because IO didn't like them. IO got to keep Hitman because the franchise was made before they were brought by Eidos, so Mini Ninjas and Kane & Lynch are still with Square. Hitman 3 is in development and may be episodic again. I used to grumble about Hitman 1being episodic but once I got my hands on Hitman 2 I realized that it's much better for this style of game to have been episodic. Instead of diving into each map for 3 months straight and then moving onto the next map, which worked really well for the game, I ended up just doing 2-3 runs of every map and only then starting over and actually doing them proper style, which really ended up hurting the experience of the game for me.  I want that minimap back. Why aren't they showing restricted zones on the minimap?

All three target groups are fairly easy make look like accidents in a surprisingly "silent" fashion, actually, with a bit of planning. The guy slaving over the stove can have it explode in his face if someone were to adjust it with a wrench (while he's investigating the coin someone tossed through his window while the guard is outside the room), the guy on the rooftop could take an explosive flight if the gas tank up there were adjusted with the same wrench and the leaking gas were set off somehow (say by a nearby micro-explosive being triggered while he was next to the tank but not the micro-explosive), and the trio of musicians take a stroll down a back path after they're done playing, where there could be propane tanks carelessly discarded in the tall grass, one of them tossed there shortly beforehand and leaking, accidentally triggered by someone's remote EMP device (the one in the front tends to walk a little ahead of the others, though, so if someone were to bump into him while walking up the path in the other direction, that might group them together a bit better, though). Of course, it's also super easy to just toss some friendly ducks their way, too.

Nope! That little bastard didn't even give me *anything* for slaving over a hot graphics card to SA him, I should have just tossed a cleaver in his face or something. It was fairly easy, though, you can poison his water bottle (the one closer to the audience in the QA booth), or push him off a cliff after you gently caress up his car, though there are a lot of witnesses in the latter you'd need to take care of, first.

Man this news is a bit weird, I've been assuming they haven't been in financial trouble like everyone was saying because of the extra studio announcement late last year and such but then the relatively underwhelming DLC mission and the extra assignments being a bit lame compared to the Hitman 2016 ones made me think maybe they were. Then Hitman 3 gets stealth announced/confirmed in a documentary before the full DLC for 2 has come out? Seems weird but like, good for them I guess.
