Guys I have a brilliant idea okay check it out what if you sign up for like a "Career" right and you get assigned a bit of land for housing/what have you/etc and your workplace is nearby. Now the job is basically for life right but in exchange you never have to worry about housing/financial security/etc. ever again! Security, etc will all be provided so you can raise a family if you want to. And the job itself isn't some weird poo poo it's just normal work and you'll even get a 25 hour work week! Now, there's no wages per se but that's okay because as long as your job gets done anything you'd need to really buy gets provided. The best part is no taxes!! All you'd have to do is sign lifetime loyalty paperwork and get moved in

the ending of wolf of wall street is cool because Scorsese basically acknowledges people will misinterpret the movie as about how cool and badass jordan belfort is and calls them dumb rubes

Raging Bull is an entire movie about a giant manchild with macho pretensions and how loving awful a person he is.

why wouldn't a gangster flick glorify toxic masculinity and beating people to death with a louisville slugger? their stars rise on cruelty and hubris, then they take two in the back of the head at the end. that's the point. you can tell a story about homie who cries or whatever, but that's a different story and that's okay.
