It was really depressing to watch. Over the course of a few years the media outlets went from constantly deriding the obscure tiny nazi parti until they became one of the most popular parties in Sweden which legitimized them and now we kind of just have a permanent nazi parti in our government

My favorite part was when we got talking about how New York state (where he lives) was giving absurd tax breaks to companies to move to the state, like 10 years with no state taxes on top of all the incentives they're definitely already getting from the state and cities and counties. Someone mentioned the goal was to "create jobs" and he almost immediately went "well that's good! create jobs, lower taxes!" etc. and then I mentioned that as a result the cities in the region were clearly facing budget shortfalls and unable to cover basic infrastructure upgrades and maintenance and he immediately flipped to "that's bad! i'll have to pay for that from my taxes instead I bet! they should pay fair taxes!" and as the conversation went on he kept rapidly oscillating back and forth between "taxes bad, praise be to the job creators" and "wait everything around where I live is falling apart and the city needs money to fix it and stuff still needs to get paid for, if they don't pay taxes then I bet I'll have to pay higher taxes! Taxes good, tax those drat corporations and the rich!" I'm not sure if he'll ever wind up figuring out or admitting that he's actually a pro-labor socialist but at least it was fun to watch

Also that a homeless person who drinks is some kind of failure even if they pay for the alcohol with legal tender.
