What's the deadline on recruiting? I'd like to hold off for as long as I can to get the free levels cause most folks will be bench warmers once they join up. Edit: also, there's no spammable way to raise supports between characters other than Byleth, right?

Not unless you count parking their dumb asses next to each other GBA-era style while you fight in repeatable battles. Which is a shame, cause their bickering and flailing is charming enough to make me want to poach everyone possible. They are all my stupid war babies and -they need me.-

Yeah the way supports seem to raise in battle is that it affects the characters directly next to the person attacking/being attacked as well as anyone else who is within attack range of the enemy unit. This makes it really easy to level Sniper/Bow Knight supports because as long as they're even remotely near someone they'll gain supports. My Bernadetta ended up with more A supports than Byleth.

Being willing to turn your entire monthly income into gifts doesn't hurt either, before you get enough points that you can just eat your way to friendship.

It’s not ‘spammable’ but things like Choir Practice, Meal Sharing, and Group Tasks raise support pretty quickly, and there doesn’t appear to be a very high threshold for non-Byleth supports, so if you focus on a pair you should be able to max them out pretty quick, especially if you toss one as an Adjutant to the other. edit: lol beaten like three times

I'm pretty disappointed that it feels like so many A supports are romantic. It kind of ruins the impact when a character has already told 6 other people that they want them to come stay by their side forever.

Question about part 2 went with Edel to burn it all down. Exploring the monastery after my 5 year nap and I’m not seeing anyone to train Byleth in flying. Am I just out of luck getting her up to Falcon knight? Currently an E in flying.

I saw some people saying there's a NG+ What carries over because I can't imagine it's much? Honestly my biggest gripe with the game on replays is the thought of having to do the slice of life school stuff over and over and over again each time I want to play it. Hell I'm on chapter 17 of edelgards route and I'm already starting to get the "ugh can I just skip this now" feel. Really wanna play more of the other paths but the school has officially worn out it's welcome for me.

Yeah, I say "spammable" because that seems like the only reasonable way to fill the support logs of the three house leaders. They can only gain supports on their respective playthroughs, so it seems like maxing them out would be a tremendous pain in the rear end.

Save your renown to buy professor levels with NG+ and you can have the entire poachable student body in your house by the time you're halfway through year one All things flow from how many actions you can take per week and that is entirely from Professor level. Max out Prof level and everything else will follow

There's a tip that you shouldn't raise it straight to A+ because some renown is tied to gaining prof levels.
|
# ? Aug 4, 2019 04:51 |

Also, renown spent on unlocking levels and supports isn't refunded on future playthroughs, which is a huge bummer since the stuff is pretty expensive and you don't get that much renown out of a full run.

What's the deal with male Byleth's coat It looks like a typical cloak with the sleeves going unused but on closer inspection he is actually wearing the cloak properly but instead of putting his arms in the sleeves there is a hole in them that he sticks his arms through instead I get that it's because it looks cool but this is going to drive me nuts now

I mean if you can start a game with A or higher prof level I don't see supports being a problem at all. So no reason to unlock supports right away. Also quick question about Black Eagles Edie chapter 14 battle there is no way to spare Hilda, right? I can't find a safe way to bait her in and get the professor to attack her without restarting and well...with her relic she one shots anyone she hits. I can bait her into my mage killbox safely but that would kill her. Granted if I can't spare her, her fault for fighting to the death.

I don't even particularly like them, but I did have them at B support. Also it's a bit silly that no one surrenders. Like I can understand why the Kingdom wouldn't surrender to Edie, but the Alliance? Fighting to the death for them just seems there to enforce the pathos of killing those you knew. Also to totally double post, I asked at the bottom of the last page but is Armored Lord Edie's only personal class? I thought she got one that let her cast magic and I even raised her reason some for that reason.

I dunno how it would be with the Black Eagles considering the nature of your actions changes radically in that route compared to the other two but the impression I got from my Blue Lions playthrough is that if you poached them in part 1 and they didn't immediately rejoin after the timeskip, if you beat them on the field you can choose to kill them or to persuade them to join your side. I do not know if this happens regardless of how you beat them or if it requires Byleth to be the one to defeat them.

BE-Edelgard Chapter 12 Thanks, AI, for throwing yourselves at Catherine glad I bothered trying to save you three, really made it all worth while! Please tell me I didn't miss out on anything cool by having all these bozos suicide themselves into someone I couldn't possible get to before the death stampede happened. And judging by how dodgy catherine was and how many divine pulses I burned I don't think I'd have been able to beat her before then either
