You gotta understand, for these people guns are just a hobby. Suppressors make guns less loud so it does less damage to their ears when they're shooting them.

They don't give a poo poo about anything else, they look at the guns they shoot at things as literal toys for their enjoyment. Sure, they'll talk all sorts about how safe they are and how important it is to keep them in a good place and how to not accidentally shoot something you don't want to, but the entire purpose for guns to them is to have fun shooting them at things. Until they look at them as something other than toys, there's no changing their mind.
