I really liked Michael Moore's enthusiasm as well as Virgil's willingness to challenge him on stuff. And as a Michigan native his points felt spot on to me. I was just in Traverse City a week before the show and I had no idea it had much of a left presence at all. That region of the state is generally super conservative/Christian, even moreso during the summer when it's full of rich people from down state.

Virgil is better at doing basic journalist pushback in a comedy podcast with friends than 99% of the media. Wild stuff, and very cool too

yeah even if you did away with gerrymandering and voter suppression we'd eventually reach a point where the house and president are permanently democratic (which is the situation we'd have been in for the past two decades if not for those) but the senate is permanently republican.
