Leave them back or literally do t take them on the side battles. Side battles are your grind, I used them to level whoever was lowest. If they are really low, put them as an assist on whoever you are going to have level. Dont be scared to stand them out on their own and let them battle til they die (if you are on casual)

But that plot hits hard if you're into suburbia and what it is and does, and the game is chock full of fun little mini games. I should remake a version that lets me play Demon Tower and Bass Hero whenever I want.

Night in the Woods looks nice but you spend way too much time just pressing one button to slowly walk across the city and then repeating the same thing over and over again. I imagine that's less of an issue on Switch though.

I'm like 30 hours in (and still only on part 1 lol). But the new Fire Emblem is a tad too easy, even on hard mode with permadeath. Part of it is that the characters are just too strong. The addition of Gambits and Combat Arts really allow you to cheese some battles. There's an overall shift towards focusing on the class system, but even that's kinda a mess. You can't just be a really good sworduser; you have to learn magic and flying or whatever to reach the "ultimate" class. I miss class trees that are clear and simple. Still loving the game but every iteration of Fire Emblem post-gameboy advance just seems like three steps forward, one step back.

Then in part 2 it got...more complicated. Might be easier than the average fire emblem. But if I was on permideath I would be resetting a lot, let's say. But all.in all, yeah, you are meant to focus on such a small roster here that pure...anything isnt a endclass. Magic is great on most classes luckily so that's a good backup. With battalion always an option. Purest class is sniper Bombadilillo fucked around with this message at 05:58 on Aug 12, 2019 |

Master classes aren't automatically better than advanced classes. Most of the master classes are just different specialists. For example Swordmaster is better for pure swording than mortal savant ( crit skill + better growths). The fliers and war master are just straight up upgrades though.

There are legitimate complaints but if that setting interests you it's a must play. A let's play could be enough I guess though there are a couple of game play moments that are genuinely great. The game really needed a scene selector so you could just go back to those sequences.

Not every advanced class wants or needs to continue to a master class. Assassin is probably the best example but it's true for most of them. Don't feel like you need to push your magic users to learn riding and lances (unless you want to!), they'll be just fine as bishops/warlocks and you can focus on getting their magic skill super high instead.

I bought Night in the Woods mistakenly thinking it was an adventure game, based on how it was pitched to me and the trailer. I ended up liking it anyway, but anyone considering it should be aware that it's more like interactive fiction where you happen to have manual control of your character sometimes.

I did that years and years ago with one of the Phoenix Wright games, where I bought it not understanding exactly what it was. I spent an embarrassing amount of time "skipping the intro waiting for the game to start" before starting over.

I'd agree for the most part. Having some cav, especially fliers, to deal with super long range threats is a big help. Some of the later maps can be big with quite a few chokes. Having the ability to cover a lot of ground along with hit and run with canto is really strong.
