its quite something that the alphabet soup agencies are either half feckless failsons placed into positions because their CIA family member can vouch for them, or complete psychopaths completely devoid of morality and just want to kill and rape the public, and if it happens to align with the CIAs goals thats a bonus.
|

All the competent people at those agencies max out in middle management or in their specialized roles, while the failsons and idiot sociopaths occupy all the positions of power. Just like the corporate world.

The tech boom of the noughts and the teens never quite created the futurist utopia that we all imagined. Rather than challenge and upset the status quo, the new tech barons merely replaced ugly and obviously exploitative heavy industry with an app and independent contractor economy. This is all wrapped in a shiny layer of PR bullshit that makes Musk into Iron Man and kept people using Facebook for years after it was obvious that Zuck was a fish person harvesting all of their most intimate details. So the millennial generation, raised to believe in capitalism-turbocharged technocracies and progress, hoping for some kind of magic silicon bullet that would slay the old monsters in politics and the new ones like global warming, is becoming disillusioned. Some realized it in 2008, some in 2016, but others still held out hope for the ruling class. Epstein is the straw that broke the camels back. The “new left” are no longer temporarily embarrassed billionaire and are now disgusted by the idea of accumulating so much wealth that you distort laws and norms and society like a black hole. There is no longer a discussion of “they earned it through hard work or being smarter”. Even if they did (lol), it’s looking like a law of nature that having a billion dollars severs your ties to humanity. The only available alternative to climbing the ladder and praying to be rich is to look to your left and right and lock arms with the average Joes around you. Most of them still don’t have the language or class consciousness to say “solidarity” or “socialism”, but they’re mad as hell and know that someone needs to take big money out of not only politics, but out of society itself.

Like they can shoot up pure uncut heroin and their body just doesn't react, they don't get high or sick or anything, it's incredibly rare though, I figure non-sicko billionaires if they exist have a similar explanation.

It's certainly impossible to do to (and possibly at) a certain scale. Like I can become rich insofar as making six figures and maintain empathy/humanity, but if I become richer than that I lost it along the path (i.e., I would not arrive at billionaire status without already having lost empathy - mostly). Becoming is not necessary to being wealthy, you can simple be rich, as is the case with inherited wealth which represents the vast majority of the bourgeoisie (and to take it a step further everybody in the Western world is wealthy relative to those in the Global South). If you do become rich without inheritance it can still be done without exploitation of others -- you win the lotto, sign a record/sport deal, etc. Those two classes of people don't suffer from the inherently dehumanizing exploitation of others per se (false consciousness figures here, too) but are nonetheless susceptible to the dehumanizing effect of wealth itself but, again, this is a likelihood not a guarantee. On this principle alone, given the relative wealth of USAsians, you start to understand the morality of Americans writ large - why Americans have no problem with endless wars, police brutality, poverty, and so on. Investigators enrolled in the study a total of 600 impoverished, African-American sharecroppers from Macon County, Alabama. Of these men, 399 had previously contracted syphilis before the study began, and 201 did not have the disease.[2] The men were given free medical care, meals, and free burial insurance for participating in the study. The men were told that the study was only going to last six months, but it actually lasted 40 years.[2] After funding for treatment was lost, the study was continued without informing the men that they would never be treated. None of the men were told that they had the disease, and none were treated with penicillin even after the antibiotic was proven to successfully treat syphilis. According to the Centers for Disease Control, the men were told that they were being treated for "bad blood", a colloquialism that described various conditions such as syphilis, anemia, and fatigue. "Bad blood"—specifically the collection of illnesses the term included—was a leading cause of death within the southern African-American community.[2"
