Alright. Playthrough #2 in the books. BE and BL down. Pairings: Byelth and Dorothea, obviously because Dorothea is the single best character in the game. It almost felt a waste to marry her myself since all her A supports are dynamite. Dmitri and Marianne They bonded over mutual sadness, it was adorable Felix and Lysithia This one wound up sucking. I tried switching to Lysithia/Cyril but it was too late Cyril and Sharmir awww, they Robin Hoods. I don't recall if marriage was actually involved in this one Manuela and Hanneman If they're going to argue like an old married couple they might as be an old married couple Ferdinand and Bernadetta I loved their A support in my first run. Their paired ending is ok I guess Ashe and Ingrid I was feeling the chemistry between these two right from C rank. It is ambiguous whether it ended in marriage Sylvain and Mercedes I won't lie, this pairing exists because after all the other pairings Mercedes was the only one I could pair Sylvain with. I don't even remember details Annette and Lindhardt This one seemed natural. Opposites attract. The support ladder was eh but their ending was cute The fallout from Cyril/Sharmir meant that Dedue and Flayn didn't get paired endings. I kinda wish Felix/Catherine was a thing. Blue Lions end spoiler that I'm sure pretty much everybody who has played Blue Lions has made: I'm sorry I was of the understanding that I'd get some goddamn answers from Rhea Despite my entire team being murder blenders and turning 90% of the game into solar supernova vs ant the last fight had that juuuuust right difficulty in it. So allons y, the Golden Deer await.

Oh the whims of the RNG for my Blue Lions run, or at least how it can sense who I’m gonna S rank this time around Lysithea has missed her 60% magic growth four times so far but has hit her speed really well (13 in each stat at level 9) Ashe on the other hand has like 14 attack and speed and 10 defense at level 8 Jerry Manderbilt fucked around with this message at 04:22 on Aug 15, 2019 |

This would be cool DLC. I’d absolutely date the Death Knight. There’s a few characters I feel were planned to be playable at some point but got cut, and I’m kinda hoping they’ll get some play in future content.

He also has a unique personal skill where bosses usually just double up on other unit's skills or your the final boss and you need a fancy gimmick. Sothis I feel absolutely was at some point. She has stat caps internally & growth rates despite having no instance like Jeralt & Rhea to like...display them, the Sothis Guard in NG+ feels like a way to use scrapped battle animations, and like Jeralt she also earns/loses support points despite only having a S Rank that you can just always get

I beat my first path last night, Eagles, but on the other paths does Jeritza...exist anymore than he does in this one? You never get introduced to him, he's just there being weird and standoffish when you first get to explore a little and he's there mostly unmentioned for a few months until Flayn is kidnapped and he just disappears never to be seen again except for the dungeon access being in his room.

Also, do the other routes even see Fleche? She's Randolph's sister you see on Edelgard's route but the way she's treated I'd be surprised if you ever fought her on the other routes. I'd add her to the pile of "was this a recruitable character at one point" if not.

And given we see Dimitri snap dudes necks with his bare hands. it really seems like of the three the one most in danger of being killed by bandits was Edelgard. I feel like saying Dimitri snaps dudes necks with his bare hands is actually underselling the moment a little. He grabs a dude by the face with ONE hand, flicks his wrist, and that's all it took. Between that poo poo and some of the odd little strength related accidents mentioned in some supports and I wondered for a bit about that boy. on the BE fight vs Dimitri I had to divine pulse like 8 times before even one character could get a loving hit in on him, and I had at least 5 per turn trying (and at least one of them getting OHKOed). even Bernie, my beloved horse archer, couldn't loving hit him. on the last go around though Byleth and El each got him (after a Bernie and Petra miss), taking him down in one turn. very annoying.

Just beat Beagles-Chaos. Game loving rips. I hope the DLC is good and that Koei Tecmo gets another shot at this. Some minor UI fixes and better map design and 3H would be probably the best of 'em all. As it is, it's way high up there.

Beat the penultimate mission for Golden Deer and lmao the setting is technically post apocalyptic Also, originally I attempted to fight Thales normally, because I don't like cheesing bosses too much? But then he did an Earthquake attack on my units outside, who were all at half health, and killed four people. So, I reset time, plonked Lysithea behind his stronghold, opened the door, and one-shot him from behind a wall. Go to hell, you crotchety old gently caress.

And yea with Jeritza it's really goddamn bizzare, he speaks to you like you've been introduced to him but you haven't at all. Like you say "that's not like you" about something when you've only seen him once, how do you even know? He's so clearly cut stuff. rannum posted:Also, do the other routes even see Fleche? Nah, I don't mean it's a mystery. It's just this game has a tendency to put new named characters front and center only for them to instantly eat poo poo before you get a chance to learn anything about them, and turn out to be basically just glorified mooks. It's such a stark contrast to the kids, who are interesting and fleshed out and in many cases could just take the place of some of these characters and be better for it. I mean, I don't think there's anything wrong with there just being a generic dude with a name as a boss unit in a one-off map and I don't think he's really built up that much. Unless maybe i'm getting names confused?

It's the guy who appears to be leading the raid on the Holy Tomb when Edelgard is revealed as the Flame Emperor, is fully voice acted and part of the animated cutscene. Except both Edelgard and Hubert are just standing around right next to him, so why isn't he just Hubert? You kill him in that same mission. I would basically put Randolph, Fleche and whatshername in the same category, though. And for that matter, Kronya. e: (Holy Tomb spoiler, as is the above) That cutscene has one of my favorite lines in the game though as Linhardt, with a lot of sincerity, goes "So the Flame Emperor is connected to the Empire... I never thought that possible." I mean, I get it, but it sounds so dumb when he says it like that. Hyper Crab Tank fucked around with this message at 09:54 on Aug 15, 2019 |
