its a mix iirc. There ARE real models, but the environment, the clothing, and the face itself is all fake, or CAN be faked if the ad agency requests. There were articles about these exact photos a few months back

Generating virtual faces isn't terribly hard, here's a site that does it whenever you refresh:

https://thispersondoesnotexist.com/

The thing neural nets seem to have problems with is like, smaller stuff with fine detail, like hair, it always seems to gently caress up hair. I assume any company that wants to use it to make a virtual person follows up each image with a bunch of manual photoshopping to fix that poo poo.

Also occasionally (like just now) it generates some Cronenberg horror just off to the side of the face, which is always fun:

This isn't neural nets though, just good old CGI. Photorealism in static images hasn't been a problem for decades, it's motion that still suffers from uncanny valley. Check out any of the "scanned face in a void" animated SIGGRAPH demos from the past few years and focus on the blinking.

With this one you can easily tell it's generated (besides the obvious cronenberg horror) by looking at the finer details in the face like eyelid folds, the whites of the eyes are blurry, the hair is weird, the teeth have some strange artefacts etc.

The previous ones are no way fully generated, I don't believe that for a second. Seems like a good PR stunt using actual human models more than anything.

I mean yeah but it was a random one I picked without specifically looking for high-quality ones, and it's done by a machine that's just made to spit out random faces built out of other faces rather than specific "really good" faces. Even with the thing I linked if you sit there re-rolling for a little bit you'll find a pretty convincing one that wouldn't require much manual work to clean up.

They're right.

Capitalist Democracies, especially the US, is designed to make voting as difficult for non-white non-rich people as possible and heavily inefficient Voter turnout and tallies that aren't straight up stolen by registration bamboozling like in GA or straight up election fraud here in NC are skewed thanks to the various FPP/gerrymandering/EC methods for assigning winners, which results absurd nonrepresentational congresses and President.

They're not right, they're just making a simplistic take on the nature of voting and how it is designed to measure the aggregate, not the individual preference.

Also I fixed your second paragraph for you. Please don't lump working* democracies in with your dumpster fire of a country.

they leave me hanging for nearly an hour on a really uncomfortable stool before bringing me in. they look at my resume and portfolio, asked why I wanted to come in. which is weird since, they asked me to come in. Turns out the job is an entry level poo poo role has nothing to do with my skillset.

“well, do you need a *so and so*”

“no, but uh, thank you for your time,” so I immediately get up and start walking out. and this jackass is like, “you’re not even going to shake my hand?” I loving dead eye stared them right in the eye and told them to gently caress off. and then they start following me out yelling at me, “professionalism man, you’ve ever heard of it?”

just filled out an online job application where they had a 115 question survey and about 20 of the questions were variations of "do you think groups of similar backgrounds work better together" or what seemed to me "are you racist?"

another dozen questions asked how lazy i was, and then there was a solid 15 about how much i'd be willing to sell out my personal life in exchange for working extremely long and unusual hours.
