I still remember reading the dodgeball match, and cannot waiting to see the OVA and it did not disappoint.

After one episode Granblue Fantasy is okay. I know it's based off the mobile game, which I bounced off, but while it doesn't seem like it's going to be another Rage of Bahamut I'm liking it well enough.

So I finally got around to watching Ouran High School Host Club and I just hit episode 10. ...I’m sure this episode was respectful for its time but yikes the years have not been kind to the language used regarding Haruhi’s father.

Yeah, the stuff with Haruhi's dad didn't age very well. It's kinda jarring since overall, everyone seems to treat him with respect. Even his one co-worker that kinda gives him poo poo for his night habits goes out drinking with him and drags him home to tell Haruhi, "hey, kid, you really kinda upset your dad and he thinks it's because of his hobbies, so maybe you should ease up on him." But some of the dialogue is absolutely stuff that nobody in their right mind would have used even just a couple years later, I think. In a perfect world, I suppose we'd get a new dub that changes the language about the dad and also gets rid of Vic while keeping the other cast members. Also the guy who voiced one of the twins is also The Drifter in Destiny 2, which is a real revelation when you learn it and can't unhear Drifter's sleazy, shady comments having a bit of Hikaru in them

Finally watched Children of the Whales. It's pretty decent, but it kinda sputters out after sinking the enemy ship and probably should've wrapped up there. It feels like a season and a half of content, and stopped just where a second season would've started ramping up the drama. The OP's great too. Also goddamn was that show was brutal when it wanted to be . Though some deaths you could see coming a mile away, like Captain Headpats.

It only covers around half (iirc) of the source material. It'd be nice to get a second series to finish it but I'm guessing there's no money in it as you can't merchandise that kind of show well.

Is anyone else watching 7seeds? Is anyone else as confused with it as I am? It has a very shoujo look, but there is a poo poo ton of edgelord stuff like a trolley of naked gassed dead people being emptied into a meat chipper built expressly for that purpose. Oh and a woman just randomly rips the head off of a goose and squeezes the blood from it onto her outstretched tongue. Also, for some reason I'm having a hard time properly suspending my disbelief for it... BTW 'Enter the Anime' is basically a (pretentious) ad for Netflix's anime meant for people who don't watch anime. It's not worth watching.

Noticed something neat with Cannon Busters; If you look at the top-left corner of Bessie's arcade display when it pops up in an episode, it lists the current part of the episode as the Stage (-A for pre-ad-break, -B for if it's after it). I just want to know why Bessie runs on quarters. It doesn't have to make sense, I just want to see what dumb reason they'd come up to justify for a giant Caddillac that turns into a robotic minotaur which runs on quarters . (Aside from being fuckin' awesome, of course)

I really hope it gets a second season. Least of all because it ends on a cliffhanger . One of my favourite bits is in the last episode though, where they do the classic "catch someone from a big fall with the giant robot" bit, only this time because it's Philly physics actually gets to have some input on what would happen when a person falls at terminal velocity onto a metal palm .
