Not all the skeletons have fractures and many died years apart. It could be some died that way, but it doesnt explain the rest or the significance of the spot.

While it would surprise me if the robber was an Orthodox Jew, but dressed as one, because a large portion of the Diamond District vendors are of Orthodox Jewish origin.
