On the one hand, I can see how centuries-old vampires may not be fond of wrecking the planet with human-induced climate change. Especially if it means waking up under several hundred feet of water once torpor ends. Not to say that Democrats aren't on oil's payroll as well, but Republicans and Libertarians are the greater evils in this regard.

On the other hand, everything else about the GOP is pretty much set up to appeal to a regressive monster borne out of the Medieval era.

So instead of using the same "isolated small town is under siege by the supernatural" only fall themed instead of winter, I'm adapting your hell house. Two story farm house with an attic, basement, be and hidden subassembly subbasement sacrificial Temple to a forgotten harvest God. Overgrown corn field in the back, a work house, a slaughterhouse. All with their own spooky manifestations. The big bad is still the hook-handed killer, but now he's a construct of the house, an echo of the trauma that occurred there that created this cursed land.

I mean Ventrue, like any entrenched vampire, support systems of power that a) they understand, b) can manipulate and c) tend to favor the few over the many.

They may or may not be ideologues. They definately aren't 'Republicans' in a way we'd understand it. If anything, it's more that Republicans support the same sorts of systems that the Ventrue do and for many of the same reasons but they aren't identical.

The Ventrue would absolutely do all the poo poo the Kochs did and do, although of course an individual Ventrue will not necessarily be in that particular loop. Good sass on that blueblood at least.

The tech startup CEO version of this where you're caught between megalomania and insisting you're changing the world for everyone (with an app) would be a good time too. Bonus points if you throw in a Theranos reference.

The nice thing about Requiem is that I don't feel so constrained by stereotypes. Ventrue there tend to be Embraced because they're good at control, whatever manner control may be and an MBA doesn't need to enter into it.

The Lord of the Trailer Park in the Ventrue clanbook is one of the best bits. The Ven aren't about being clean or classy or wealthy or distant. They're just about being on top of things, whether those things are a street gang or an office or a trailer park meth ring.

If anybody has seen Justified, Mr. Limehouse strikes me as an excellent example of a Ventrue, which admittedly isn't super dissimilar to the Lord of the Trailer Park.

^^^ Thanks.

I am a PC for the first time in ages and my fiance is running her first game.
One of the other players is going to be a PT Barnum-styled Daeva.
The other has only played a little DND so she just wants to smash stuff. She'll likely go Gangrel.

I was going to go stealth/Animalism Gangrel but now I'm thinking Nos.
Maybe, MAYBE Ventrue.

Well all be embraced in session 1 and I'll be playing a 16-year old. Maybe 18. I like the idea of the world largely involving bars and clubs and my little idiot might have to get a fake ID.

They're in Nameless and Accursed, which is not yet released. A preview has been put up of one of the Houses from the writeup, but it's only the House details, not the overall Tremere template.
