So many decent balls put in that Rashford didn't gamble on. Martial puts at least one of those away imo. Woodward put this squad together. The young players that Ole is backing are doing alright, but it's breaking down all too often with Rashford/Pogba/Lingard on the final ball. Mata showed why he should be starting against teams like this.

He (Lingard) had a purple patch of scoring important goals but that was a while ago now. I don't know if it's Lingard or something wider as I've mentioned before though. There's a general malaise over players that have historically played so much better. It was obvious under most of Mourinho's tenure and came back with a bang after the PSG match. I wonder sometimes how much of the current issues started with sacking Van Gaal right after he'd won a trophy. Progress was starting to be made that season, Van Gaal had won the fans over, the FA Cup should have got him another season at the very least. The will seems to be there and sometimes it's been enough but there's something not right with the psychology of the team and that's been the case for a while. So many players that have played well in the past and for other teams have looked utterly miserable at United. Pogba, Sanchez, Lukaku and Mkhitaryan to name a few past and present.
